"Honey, I'm home!"
Hearing my dad enter threw the front door was like hearing the angels calling me away from these snobs.
I rush from my isolated room, down the spiral stairs, and into my daddy's arms.
"Hey sweetie!" He says, stroking my long blonde hair, patting my back.
"Hey, Miller!" Says Genevieve, rushing to my father who nudges me back so he can embrace his 'newly found daughter!'
"Oh, Honey!"
Maria rushes in, her floral apron wrapped over her evening gown, and then instantly wraps her arms around him giving him a quick make our session, which drives us both into a different room.
"Go have a seat at the dinner table dears, dinner will be acquainted to y'all in a few."🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃
It's amazing how my father has been married to such a snarky women, but treats her like an amazing house wife. If only he knew how she treated me- but would that really matter? Would he leave her because of something a silly sixteen year old said?
"So, I think we should share our day. Who wants to go first?"
Maria tries to act so peppy and ecstatic in front of him, but behind closed doors she's all vague and a total bitch.
She devours a quick piece of bread, sitting right across from my father.
"So- no one? Fine, I'll go first."
She places her fork and spoon back elegantly on the napkin.
"I had a meeting with the CEO of the modeling agency for Vogue, and their planning on taking us in!" She says as Genevieve and my father begins to start clapping and screaming like they won a million dollar prize- but I must admit it, it would be good financial wise, but even better for Genevieve's reputation and the last thing I need is her getting an even bigger head!
I give a small smile, finished my steak.
"Okay, now, Genevieve, how's your day been?"
She looks over to her 'angelic' and talented daughter.
"Well, the shoot went fantastic! Even Delilah did a great job!"
She placed a hand on mine, a warming smile, but I was the only one who could see the fake deceit in her eyes, and hear it on the edge of her voice.
"That's great Gen- what about you Delilah, how was your day?"
All the attention turns to me, Maria and Genevieve's eyes darting into mine, but my dads are truly concerned.
"Well, besides being a servant for the beautiful and the bit to confident Gen, and the amazing trip home, I'd have to say my highlight was staying with Aunt Francine!"
I say, the edge clear on my voice, but then dad gives me a confused glance-
"You seen your Aunt Francine?"
I see Maria's new mission clear in her eyes: To change the topic!
"Oh dear, didn't you say you have a surprise..."
His eyes light up at the reminder,
"Oh yes, but I want to wait until tomorrow morning to keep you hanging-" He said a smirk clear on his face.
"-so go get yourself some sleep little ladies an I'll see you tomorrow morning."
He gave a us a kiss goodnight, but a mystery at heart...what was this big surprise?!-
