The dress is white...not bright white, but an off white that made the blonde curls falling behind my head in a bun ten times brighter. The dress had lace...soft and designed in a floral classic pattern. My mom would have loved it. It had a sweet heart neck line, and even then, my father could see my heart beating out of my chest.
The wedding didn't take place at the palace, but at a chapel in the south. It's glass almost, and is on a cliff...the place it self took some time reserving, but was absolutely astonishing.
My dad's hair had been cut, so the original red was now a buzz, but still handsome. I remember walking down the stairs of my Clermont home and my dad crying at the bottom...I would laugh and he would say he was surprised that I may be walking down the isle some day, but even then I let him know he would be walking with me. Though now, his smile is brighter...Wanda, my maid, met my father on our trip to Atlin...things have been interesting, I guess you could say. Just another shot from cupids arrow, some would assume.
"Ready baby girl?" He asked, and I could hear the chime of the bells in the room before me. We decided on no flower girls, bridesmaids or groomsmen, because with both of our best friends perished as a memory, we would hate to have to pick someone else.
"Anywhere with you, daddy." And we were off.
The doors swung open and Illéa saw me in my long lace wedding gown. Though the nation itself weren't the only ones...
5th row back, I saw the evicted selected and all seemed rather happy with their new lives.
On the left of me on the 3rd row, sat Genevieve and Maria. Turns out Maria got out of prison and was sentenced to community duties, but that didn't stop me from rubbing it in that old hags face that I had a life that took a lot more labor but paid off just as well. Genevieve, well she had a man alright. A five... A god forsaken five. Not disappointing, but shocked that out of anyone, she would be the one to see the good in a poor heart.
Second row was none other than Piper Star and Killian Marsh. Married a few weeks back, and are expecting. I'm happy for them though... I reckon' everyone deserves a shot at happiness.
On the first row, were my favorites...
Queen Hero Schreave went into labor 43 minutes after the raid in the palace last week. In her arms laid the twins everyone has grown to adore... the
Prince in training Asher Schreave and his porcelain sister Amethyst Schreave. Everette's fingers were in between their little fists. Caught an interviewer asking him about it, and he in quote "can't stop touching them, I just have to know they are there...they sleep with Hero and I, on our chests I mean. I just have to know all is well."
Though despite their happiness...mine was standing in front of me.
Augustus was in a tux, a preferred bow tie after arguing about it for thirty minutes straight. He jaw line shaded with his tan masculine skin and his eyes sunken into my soul to retrieve the feelings I have for him in words...
or what some consider, our vows.
"Okay," I began after the introduction of the ceremony. I unfolded my near off-white parchment and began. "many have stories in life...whether it be about a tragedy or a comedy or even a classic...ours however, was a beautiful mess." I feel the tears rise and fall like my love for the man before me. "We've fallen in love in the most twisted mad way possible, but what better way for falling in love with your best friend..." I reach forward and tangle my fingers with his. "And from this day foward, I owe you my life, my soul, and every happy moment that I know we will share together. Everybody has somebody in this world, and your my person...whether you like it or not, our love is compatible and our arguments end with passion and this day will end with happiness because I know until the day I die, I will help rule this nation...and I wouldn't want to do it by anybody else's side."
His was better, by far...
"I knew I liked you when you told me flirting was unintentional when we first met. I knew I wanted to date you when you fussed at me for being unloyal to everyone else. I knew I wanted to love you like my parents loved the day we danced in the rain. I knew I never wanted to hear you hurt the day your best friend died. I knew I was in love with you, when I let you go. And I now I know, leaving you is ludicrous and love isn't a myth. Your eyes tell me something, lead me somewhere, give me another adventure to explore every day. Though, I can't say I don't like getting lost in your green eyes every once in a while. Or I can't say I don't mind catching a few glances that give me them kid butterflies all over again. Delilah Esmerelda Primar, to die by your side would be such a heavenly way to die...and I wouldn't have it any other way."
Just like that, I learned that this man, this Prince, was going to be my arm-candy, my partner in crime, my best friend, my husband, my King, the father of my children, and my lover for I wouldn't want anybody else to take Augustus Maxon Schreave's place.
He had no other job in this world to love, and be loved by me.
