Recently on: The Daughter of Illéa
After discovering about Charleston's new "friend," she departed from the castle! The night before Charleston left, not only did Delilah figure out Willow was the one who almost set her up for an attempt of rape, but she found Piper Star and Gus fraternizing in the hall! With all the emotions going through her young hormonal body, Delilah beat Piper to the pulp before an angry Gus arrived, and she fell into a state of oblivion!
Yesterday is just patches of black and screams and the mask I thought I'd need see Gus wear. My maids must have cleaned me up while I was unconscious, considering my makeup is gone and my hair is no longer in hair sprayed curls.
The illuminating windows of the balcony blinded me as my shutters opened. All I saw was blurry figures of colors and shapes, and I slid on my glasses on the bedside, to absorb my surroundings. It took moments to realize my location. I could tell by the scarlet coated walls, and the Medicinal Purposes to the Doctrine Life book that Gus got me after I saved Gemma from amputation, that this was my suite. The room I received months ago when I was a naive neophyte, who wanted nothing to do with this competition, or worse...him.
My maids aren't in here. If they were, they'd have been buzzing about the room with sewing utensils and gossip, but I hear nothing but the steady whip of the ceiling fan. My body feels limp and weary, as that's what happens when you have too long of a nap. I raise my hands, to push back the cream colored comforter intricately designed with scarlet roses, and see it. The slits and scabs on my right knuckle reassured the incident that had happened yesterday evening. My feet welcomed the light comforting carpet with a tingling sensation. The morning light enlightens me, as I approach the balcony doors. The wind sent some refreshing gush, as it was a cleanser of my sins, replenishing me with clarity. Though something was different from the balcony in that moment. The trees beyond the walls, weren't green and everlasting, but stripped from it's leaves, and something about the distant mountains were foggy and weary. I didn't hear flirtatious laughs from Hero, as Everette glided her about the gardens, but the wind as it taps upon the palace glass. Nothing felt the same anymore.
When I arrived, it was uplifting and optimistic, even though my mission here wasn't wanted.
Now, more than ever, it's withering and tense. I try to persuade myself, that's how every middle story goes...happy, worriful, tense, and only god knows what's next. A fervent ending, or a quick, unfortunate one.
I hear the distant thumping, and at first I believe it's my heart reminding me I'm alive and that the cold winter air isn't welcoming, but then I realize the steady knocking and the bellowing voice, "Lady Delilah..."
I jump, and my legs move before my brain, and eventually I'm exposed in my yellow morning gown to Officer Feldspar.
"Hello, Feldspar." I say in a strict monotone voice.
"Hello, Delilah." He replied. I remember the several incidents we consisted in. The one time, I caught him fraternizing with Charleston, and the other he ditched me to check if she's was okay, leaving me completely vulnerable to the enemy. Rude, but romantic, so I let it slide.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, turning my back on him to retrieve a robe, wrapping it around me tightly.
"The King...he wishes for your presence."
My heart skipped a beat. Everette wanting to speak with me? It couldn't be anything other then yesterday's incident.
"Uhm- yeah, okay..."

I've never been down this sector of the palace. It was down several halls, with paintings and writings, but then at one small corridor, the chamber door sat, waiting for the guards finger tips to lay upon it. Feldspar knocked twice, and greeted, "Your Highness, I've brung her."
"Come."
Feldspar opened the door, but only partial, and let me soar my through.
For a office, it was quite large. It was in a distinct oval, with large shelfs aligning the walls, and several paintings, but one in particular sticks out. Everette, during his young reign, with Hero by his side. Aria is ten, a broad gorgeous smile- always so lighthearted. Gus, was eight or so, with the same admiring smirk and dimples. Alexandrea hadn't been thought of yet, and would probably get another painting done when she's older.
Everette sat in his scarlet leathered seat, with Hero above him, her hands rested on the back of his seat. In front of the rather large desk, sat Augustus, not even bothering to look in my direction, and Piper, with many band aids on her face along with bruises and a disturbing cocked lip.
"Nice to see you all, too." I coo sarcastically, as I take a seat in the one farthest from Augustus, towards the window.
After the click of the door, signals Feldspar's disappearance, Everette begins.
"It's been brung to my attention," he began slowly, "that the incident yesterday evening, had a reason behind it...Delilah, could you tell us why you attacked her?"
I can't help the sudden gape that arrives against my face as I feel a pang of offense.
"I...I-" I emphasize it strongly. "-didn't attack anyone! I consider it self defense, thank you very much!" I object. My words took me back a couple moments, surprising myself a long as everyone else.
"Well whatever you call it, it was not acceptable."
I felt regret, yes, and the constant guilt hitting me upside the head.
"Hear her out, Ev." Hero pleaded, and I knew she understood my position. To be in a ring of girls with the different attitudes, and then theirs those who...don't have emotion, just bitchiness.
I go to swallow, but instead I get cotton mouth, and the words struggle their way out: "Well, uhm-yesterday, I went into women's room, when she just started screaming at me-"
Piper goes to interrupts, but Hero holds up a finger, signaling her to shut up.
"What about, dear?" Hero, asks concerning.
"About the stupid Illéa's favorite title. Accused me of sleeping with people, and then started talking about Charleston-"
"I would never! Charleston was my friend!"
Hint In Life: Never argue against an actress. You'll fail.
Tears began sprinkling out of her sockets like an untamed faucet, as she pleaded her case. "Besides," she continued, "she was probably envious! After all, I could tell the split ended ponytail from anywhere..." In her words, she stopped crying, but realizing her sudden stopped she welled up again.
"Wha-What would she be envious of?"
I felt my eye stirring to the back of my head, as she began sputtering the story.
"Well, the night of the sleepover, I couldn't attend...of course the fact of I, not being able to make it, made her already bitter."
"Oh god..." I mutter to no one in particular as she continues.
"...anyways, I was on a date with Gussy Bea- I mean, Prince Augustus, that night. She happened to catch us..." She giggled through the tears, gripping Augustus' hand. The picture made me sick to my stomach. The one you loved, the one you gave your all too, just fraternizing with someone else...someone better.
"...kissing in the hall...completely not oblivious to me as to why she would be upset, but to brutally attack me was bizzare!"
I shoot her a glare, her story sounding beyond believable.
"Well..." Everette restlessly placed his hands on the desk, his chest rising with anxiety. "...by the book, your supposed to evict the fighter-"
I furiously interrupt, "Are you kidding me?"
"Lady Delilah, sit!" He commanded, but with my strong stance he locked his jaws.
"sit..."
His expression taking me back, I sat, crossing my arms like a furious child.
"...Now..." He eased on, "the decision is completely up to you whether she stays..." He has hope in his voice, that maybe something must've possessed me, or just a phase, however he finished the sentence. "...or she goes."
At this a lump forms in my throat, threatening to release itself but instead I just stand and curtsy to the King and Queen, before bursting through the door. Once I reached the hall, I heard the voice of a boy and the shaking of the kings office knob, but I didn't wait to see. As the door jolted open, all the voice container could see was the whip of my yellow gown around the curve.
