The next morning was hectic, but not as hectic as my feelings. I threw my bag on my bed, in which I placed an arrangement of day dresses in. Cornelia came this morning, securing my thoughts that we would leave at noon, and to bring a maid. I would bring Tinsley, but she's to giddy, and right now I don't need someone to try to make me happy. Because I'm not upset... right? I would invite Mrs. Patsy, but I don't need to be bossed around, but directed in the right direction. That's why I invited my gorgeous maid, Wanda. Her silky black hair and light brown skin looking absolutely radiant in her supplied attire.

"Wanda, I'm going to breakfast..."
"but miss, breakfast ended earlier."
I had skipped breakfast because seeing Augustus would be like being stabbed with daggers of betrayal. The way he didn't object to her seductive leap made me question his purity. The night before the elite were chosen, he told me he was pure. I was his first kiss... but what if that was just a show. What if he had already gotten past that limit before, and I was just a side chick as he playfully checked the hood on Pipers contemporary vehicle, if you catch my drift.
"I know," I clarify. "I just want something to digest before take off."
The trip down stairs was harder than usual. I had on six inch heels, a long purple gown with floral designs and lace fabrics, so holding up the flowing silk was another task I wasn't eager to perform.

The dining room was empty. All it had was the long table with silverware and decor that we wouldn't used until we come back, and where I usually find the food, there was nothing.
"Hungry?" I recognized the voice as the one and only Hero Carver.
"No mam..." I turn to see her in a stunning lavender gown with jewels and glitter. "...if you don't mind me asking...where are you going?"
"Oh." She looks down at her dress and glowed brightly. "We are visiting Europe for the next few days while the selected are gone..." She states matter of factly.
"Oh, well I wish y'all the most fun." My voice is cracked from the hours of crying and frustration last night, and I probably look like a wreck. The heavy bags under my eyes and my faint pale skin.
"We're expecting you."
"Mam?"
"The grand hall...their passing out parchment for your projects. We're missing it."

We arrived late, sure to make an unwanted grand entrance.
"Like I was saying," Cornelia echoed, "here is your questions. Go ahead and pend your thoughts on them, and you'll video reply your answers when you get back-" I ignored the rest, as I didn't find the need to listen. I did however look up and see him. Augustus. His right hand slithered up his side and pulled faintly on his ear, but I turned my eyesight to the drapes in the corner, ignoring his request.

The plane ride wasn't anything new. Piper painted her nails- more like commanded some sixes to give her a pedicure while she scanned threw Illéan Weekly. Surprisingly, China didn't even accompany her, but companioned herself with Arena in the last row of seats. Apparently Arena offered China a suite in the hotel her father owns. Me, the most fortunate of all, was seated in front of Charleston. Not a big deal. However, her generosity killed me as she offered Willow a seat beside me.

Fortunately the ride wasn't long, but that meant one thing. I had to tell Charleston goodbye. I never really depicted this moment in my whole time during the selection, only in my nightmares. The plane was silent, as everyone was already gone, but the two of us. She requested a couple minutes after the landing for her goodbyes, which were various considering I was the only one. Note the sarcasm.
She stood up her royal blue gown echoing her stunning personality. Her fiery red hair is up in pins with broaches.
"Charleston..." I never had to say goodbye to a friend before; though mostly I never had the experience because of my lack of social activity.
"...your my very first friend. My bestest at that, and you've really showed me how optimistic the world could become."
She frowned, understanding the moment. My voice began to crack.
"We made it...you made it." At this tears streamed down my eyes. It was official. She was unleashed of the chains of glitter and the obligation of a selected and could now be released to love Feldspar as she pleased. "Goodbye?" She cracked, baby tears easing out of her eyelids taking mascara with it.
"No...see you later." And with that she embraced me...stronger than I've ever felt her grip get, and stronger emotionally too. I was silently bawling at this point. I wouldn't blame it on her leaving, but because of all the mixed emotions of the past day flooding out of me in a hug. And with that her body disappeared into a silhouette as the sun caressed her edges, and she disappeared into the sunlight of Kent.
