I woke up feeling pretty ill. Last night was a little fuzzy. I remembered we went to a party, and I stayed with Brent. He drove me home, or did he? I turned over and jumped when I saw Brent sleeping soundly next to me. The blanket was over us, but I noticed clothes scattered around the room. That's when I remembered, I slept with Brent last night.
I laid back in the bed, staring at the ceiling and feeling like shit. It wasn't that I regretted sleeping with Brent, I just wish the circumstances were different. I groaned and cuddled into him, hoping to feel better. His heart beat calmed me down as I laid my head on his chest.
About an hour went by before Brent woke up. He stretched and groaned before wrapping his arms around me.
"Morning" he mumbled before kissing the top of my head. I groaned and turned away from him. "You okay?" He asked.
"My head hurts and I'm nauseous " I whined. I heard him chuckle before I felt his hand on my back, lightly rubbing circles.
"I'll get you something I help when I get up. How much do you remember?" He asked. I turned towards him and looked at his worried eyes as he propped himself up.
"I remember everything clearly until Zach showed up, then the details get fuzzy" I admitted.
"Oh..." Brent said sadly, looking down.
"Don't he upset. I remember what we did last night. The details may be fuzzy, but I remember wanting to do it" I said. He looked back up at me and sighed.
"That's good. I don't want us regretting anything" he said.
"I don't" I said softly. He gave me a gentle kiss before getting out of bed. I watched him put on a pair of boxers and a tshirt.
"Stay here" he said before leaving the room.
While Brent was gone I took the time to gather my clothes and dress myself. All I could think about was my headache. It wasn't terrible, but it annoyed the hell out of me. Brent came back and handed me two pills and a glass of water.
"This should help" he said. Trusting him, I took the pills with no question and sipped the water. "Drink up, you could be dehydrated" he added before going to his closet. I sat on his bed and drank the water while he got changed into clean clothes.
"Feeling better?" Brent asked as he tied his hair back.
"Little bit. Have you heard from the others yet?" I asked.
"Not yet, but I'm going to ask Eric if we'll be meeting up later" he said as he took a seat next to me. I cuddled into him and sighed.
"Sorry if I made last night weird at all" I mumbled.
"If you're happy with how that night went, then I'm happy" he said as he grabbed my hands.
"My first time and I'm tipsy with my best friend" I laughed slightly as I leaned my head on Brent's chest.
"Could be worse" he chuckled. "My first time was with Courtney, and I hated it"
"Sorry she took that from you" I said. He kissed my forehead and tightened his grip around me.
"I'm just glad I never have to sleep with her again" he mumbled.
Brent was nice enough to sit with me until I felt better. He used his phone to text the guys, inviting them over.
"Hey Brent?" I asked as he waited for them to arrive by the window.
"Yeah J" he asked back.
"You used a condom, right?" I asked nervously.
"Of course" he said after turning towards me. "Safety first"
"Oh good" I gave a sigh of relief. Not only did I not want to be pregnant, but my parents would definitely kill me. He turned back towards the window and waited for the guys.
"They're here" Brent said quickly before rushing out of the room. Not knowing if his parents were home or not, I waited on the bed. He soon came back with Eric, Barry, and Zach following.
"Hey Jamie, how'd you get here early?" Zach asked as he took a seat at Brent's desk. Brent joined me on the bed while Barry and Eric took the sofa.
"I spent the night" I said with no shame. I expected their shocked reactions.
"Did you two...?" Eric asked. I gave them a smug look as a tease but Brent nodded.
"Let's not talk about it, okay?" I said, crossing my arm.
"Fair enough. Kellie and I had a fun night too" Eric said with a wink.
"I had two girls with me last night" Barry said with a grin. Who knew he was a ladies man.
"What about you Zach?" Brent asked. Zach turned away from us and grumbled.
"I don't want to talk about it" he mumbled.
"Aw poor Zach. Better luck next time" I giggled.
"Man, shut up" he snapped.
"Enough" Brent said firmly. "No fighting in my room"
"Sorry Brent" We borb said at the same time.
We all sat around, talking about last night.
"We should do it more often" Eric said.
"It gets boring fast, remember?" Barry reminded his friend.
"Yeah, but it's fun with girls" Eric said.
"How 'bout we take a break before the next one?" I suggested.
"Sounds good to me. Gives me time to learn how to pick up chicks" Zach mumbled. We all gave me a weird look for a moment.
We sat around talking until late afternoon. Eric and Barry had to leave, and since Eric was Zach's ride, Zach went home as well.
"Now what should we do?" Brent asked me.
"I hate to say it, but I should probably get home before my parents call the cops" I mumbled. I looked down at the floor and felt Brent wrap an arm around my waist.
"Probably a good idea. Wish you could stay here with me though" he laid his head on my shoulder as he spoke.
"Maybe after high school, if we're all still friends, we can all get a place together" I suggested.
"Best idea yet J" he said.
Brent snuck me downstairs past his parents and lee me outside. We hopped into his truck and started off towards my house.
"How's your dog by the way?" Brent asked, breaking the silence.
"Beau? He's good" I said quietly.
"You need to bring him somewhere with us, I'm sure the others will love to meet him" He said.
"You know, I should. I'm sure Beau would love it" I said with a small smile.
It was a peaceful ride, but the stress came back when I arrived home. Brent kisses me goodbye before letting me out of his truck. I slowly approached the door and entered the house. Beau was first to greet me like always.
"Where have you been?" Dad walked over, looking furious.
"Club got out late so a girl from school let me crash on her couch" I mumbled.
"You couldn't have called?" He asked. I took my phone out and showed a black screen.
"Phone died. Sorry dad" I said quietly. I rushed up to my room before he could say any more. Beau followed, entering my room before I slammed the door shut.
I leaned against my door and allowed myself to fall onto the ground. Beau whined and crawled into my lap.
"I'm okay bud" I whispered as I gently pet him. I probably wouldn't be okay if he wasn't here, but he made that difference. I closed my eyes and tried to enjoy the moment of peace with Beau. I couldn't hide from my parents forever, so I had to make every moment count.
