Training"BREAK FOR FIFTEEN minutes." Coach said after blowing her whistle.
Kayleigh ran energetically to her bag and sat at the bleachers while opening her water bottle. "Hey, hurry up! Fifteen minutes would pass like a blink of an eye." She joked.
Kendall rolled her eyes at her. "We're tired because we came here on time unlike you whose an hour late."
"Oh come on! I already said sorry!" She grunted.
We laughed at their exchange of remarks. They really would have little fights all the time Kayleigh's late. We're already used to Kayleigh being late but Kendall would never. We're more of a sister to each other than a cousin.
I'm quietly drinking my water when Keira sat beside me.
I tilted my head towards her direction and giggled when I saw a big grin plastered on her lips. "Looks like someones so bubbly because cupid did something right this time." I teased as I lightly bumped my shoulder with hers.
She couldn't contain her giggles with what I said. "Ano ba, Ate Kenzie." She pouted but ended up smiling widely.
I just shook my head.
She nodded as she looked at the court in front of us. "Yeah. I wouldn't know what will I do if he wasn't. We really had this connection and I'm happy that it's not just all in my head." I could see how happy she is.
Napangiti na lang ako sa tuwa. Keira deserves the happiness she's feeling right now. She's so kind and bubbly.
Kaitlyn and Keira had a deal that they'll only enter into a relationship once they found the guy whose qualified and Clinton is over qualified for the position of being Keira's boyfriend.
"Back to the court!" Coach whistled and threw the ball into my direction.
I caught it immediately and started dribbling the volleyball as I walked towards the court. Pinagpatuloy lang namin ang pagpra practice. Spike here. Block there. Toss here. Receive there.
Volleyball has been our life like how basketball is to our guy cousins. I never knew I would love this sport until we joined our barangay's league. We enjoyed every second of it so we decided to spend the rest of our summer breaks at Catanduanes.
Coach whistled a sign that the game ended. "Good game." Coach clapped her hands in triumphant.
I was about to walk towards the bleachers when a loud husky voice filled the whole gymnasium.
"Hadeya!" He called with his usual playful grin plastered on his lips.
I playfully rolled my eyes when he was already standing in front of me. "When will you ever shut up, Jadrien?"
He squinted his eyes and kind of lowered his face. "Never." He smirked and let out a low chuckle.
I felt my heart react erratically but I ignored it by laughing as I shook my head. "Wala ka na talagang pag-asa, Jad." I joked as I continued to walk towards the bleachers. He followed me.
He was too preoccupied in wiping the sweat in my face that I had the chance to stare at his face without him noticing.
I couldn't help but admire his angled jawline and chinky eyes. We didn't get along when we were young but surprisingly we became the best of friends because of an unexpected situation. And now my heart is beating for him.
