BROKEN PROMISE
Narumiya Mei was a very close friend of yours. when you were in your younger days, you were a manager in his team when you were a first year in middle school, you've helped him with his training but because of personal reasons, you moved to Hokkaido on your second year. You always loved Narumiya's pitching form, it was beautiful. The sad part for the both of you is that you were someone irreplaceable to him as he was to you. You both promised that when you both enter high school, you'll both attend the same school and be his manager again but due to some circumstances you both last contact with one another. You didn't lose hope tho since you still had the necklace he gave you before you left your hometown.
You were already enrolled in Seido when you heard news that he is attending Inashiro. You decided to finish one year in Seido and transfer to Inashiro but you got to know the Seido Baseball Team and grown attached to them. That made it harder to leave them. You had a lot of close friends may it be managers or the players especially Miyuki Kazuya and Kuramochi Youichi who are both your classmates. When the tournament started you both finally saw each other after 2 years of being apart. He rushed towards you and hugged you tight which both teams were shocked. Miyuki pulled you back while Masatoshi pulled Narumiya back.
He was starting to make a fuss when you held Miyuki's hand as a sign to let you go, he nodded and you asked permission from your captain to talk to Narumiya and will explain things later, he nodded and you thanked him. Pulling Narumiya with you, You talked for a while and you explain things to him which he grew more and more angry. "I'm sorry Mei, I-I-I can't keep my promise anymore. I love my current team and I can't bring myself to let them go" You say while taking his hand. He pulled away immediately with a look of disbelief and betrayal in his eyes "So you decided to let me go? wow! I can't believe you would do this to me (f/n). You really caught me off guard" He shook his head, he had tears in the corner of his eyes.
"I-I'm sor-" you didn't finish what you were about to say as he turned his back to you. "Then this is good bye (l/n). I will prove to you that you should have come to Inashiro" with that he left you there with tears on your face. I can't believe she would abandon me. Damn! This hurts like hell. You were glued to your seat while tears were falling freely from your eyes holding onto the necklace on your neck. A handkerchief came into view and you raised your head to see Miyuki looking at you with sad eyes. He sat beside you and hugged you. "Come (l/n) cry your heart out. I'm here" with that you sobbed as Miyuki just hugged you tight.
~A/N: sounds familiar? "You should have come to Shiratorizawa" LOL Wakatoshi my love I'll borrow your line. kay? HAHAHA
After a while you stopped crying and let Miyuki go. "are you alright now?" he asked looking at you worriedly. You gave him a forced smile "Yeah. I will be. Let's go? the team is surely waiting for us" He nodded and pulled you up with him. "Your eyes are red" He brushed his fingers on the side of your eye. You pulled away and continued to walk to where the team is. As you arrived at the bleachers, the team saw your eyes were puffy but stayed quiet which you were very thankful for. Kuramochi pulled you next to him and held your hand squeezing it a bit and gave you a small smile which made your eyes water again.
On the opposite side of the stadium, Narumiya was sitting in between Carlos and Shirakawa. When he saw you and Miyuki entering the bleachers, he could see you cried after he left you there. He can feel a pang in his heart. "Is it alright for you to do that?" Masatoshi asked the pitcher while looking up from where he is seated. "It doesn't matter anymore. She chose her side and I chose mine" he answered curtly. "but Mei she could still be your friend even if she's in the opposite team" Carlos said while looking down at the pitcher.
"I hate broken promises the most! So leave it be! Our friendship is over the moment she decided to betray me" He snarled. "Betray huh?" Shirakawa mumbled. He really is stupid. I can clearly see you don't mean anything you say. They continued watching the game quietly.
