COME WITH ME

You have always loved to play softball, you were an ace of your team during middle school. You've been the back to back champions to go to the nationals but during your last year in middle school, to your team's horror, a deadball hit your shoulder hard. You had to back down because of an injury and everything went downhill.

You've never recovered anymore. To say you lost a part of yourself was an understatement. Regrets ran on your mind over and over again. Nightmares would visit you every night. There was once a time when you needed sleeping pills in order for you to have a good sleep.

Entering Seido, you envied the baseball team. I should've still been playing if it wasn't for that deadball. You can feel you eyes sting. Too bad I wasn't able to recover anymore. I wish at my last year with the best team I ever had, that we won and got a ticket to the Nationals again. Tears dropped from your eyes as you watch the team practice. Unknowingly one of your batch mates saw you and wondered why you were looking at there practice with sad eyes.

"Eijun-kun Isn't that (y/n) from your class?" The younger Kominato asked his friend. Sawamura looked at your direction and frowned "yeah. She's actually sitting in front of me during class" he answered looking at you confused. "Why is she crying tho" he mumbled. Better ask her tomorrow then.

Tomorrow came and you look like shit. Crying your eyes out was a huge mistake. Your eyes were puffy, you look like a goldfish or something. Sighing you debated whether to go to school or not but being a good student you decided to just let it go and wear glasses.

Entering the classroom there were still little of you but to your surprise, Sawamura who's always saved by the bell is already there. He looked at you and smiled. You bowed as a response.

"Hey (L/N). May I ask you something?" He poked your back and asked. Curiously you nodded your head. "What happened to your eyes?!" He looked at you in horror and ran out. What the? Do I look that hideous?!

After a few minutes, he came back with a cold drink and gave it to you "here put this on top your eyes. It would help lessen the puffiness." You looked at him shocked but thanked him and did as he said. "So what do you want to ask me Sawamura-kun?"

He was fumbling with his fingers at first unsure if it was appropriate to ask you. "Ahm... why were you crying yesterday when you're looking at our practice?" You looked at him dumbfounded. " It's okay if you don't want to answer" he suddenly panicked and you smiled at him sadly. "It's a long story tho" you answered him. "It's fine. We got a lot of time"

So you told him how you're a pitcher in your team in middle school and that you're the ace but something bad happened. After hearing your story he looked at you sadly. Ah.. here goes the pity.

He suddenly held your hand which shocked you. "S-sa-sawamura-kun?!" You were blushing and he held your hand tighter. "I'll fulfill your wish! I may not look like it but I'm aiming to be the ace of Seido and going to the Nationals with the team. I'll take you with me then.. to the Nationals!" He suddenly declared.

You looked at him with wide eyes. Suddenly he looked panicked which confused you. Until you can felt droplets on your hand. You were crying. "I'm sorry!! Did I squeeze your hand too hard?? Does it hurt??" He let go of your hand while giving you a handkerchief which you gladly took.

"Let's make a pinky promise (l/n)-chan. I may not become the ace quickly but I'll swear that I'll practice hard so that I'll take you to the Nationals!" He lifted up his pinky waiting for you. You smiled and entwined your pinky with him. "Then it's a promise"

After a few months of their continuous winning streak. You went to the field to congratulate him. They were playing for the semi finals tomorrow so you went to the shrine and bought a lucky charm for him.

Finally spotting him. "Eijun!" You called out and waved at him. He smiled and rushed to were you were standing. "Here. This is for you. Good luck on your game tomorrow. I'll be cheering for you" you smiled and he blushed.

"Thank you for believing in me (F/N)." He extended his hand and what he said surprised you again "come with me and I'll take you to the Nationals" he gave you his heart warming smile that made your tears fall. Wiping your them, you grabbed his hand with a wide smile.

Thank you Eijun-kun for taking my hand and making me believe that it isn't the end of everything. I'm gonna support you from the bottom of my heart. Good luck and give it your best my future ace. You're my savior. Thank you so much.
