BUSY

Surprising your boyfriend for his birthday is an easy task. Why? Cause he gave you the extra key to his apartment. Both of you are on the stage of your life where you don't have enough time to spend with each other but thanks to the extra key, you'd often sleepover his place. The both of you decided to live together but the thing is, you both didn't have enough time to look for an apartment or condo together.

He was busy with his career as a Pro Catcher while you were busy as an assistant of the CEO in a big company. The only time you could bond is when both of you apply leaves from work but you'd often go to important games to cheer for him and Sawamura. They became an invisible battery. You were happy that they reunited again after highschool. Well, Sawamura "chased" after him, that's what he said. Bragging that there were a lot of pitchers after him. You'll just roll your eyes and smile at him.

You weren't at Japan at the moment, the company had a project abroad for a week so you are now with your boss in the US for work. You looked at your phone, two days from now, it was your boyfriend's birthday. Your boss looked at you and patted your head. "What's the matter?" He asked and you rolled your eyes and slapped his hand away. "Don't act like that in public. People may get the wrong idea" you said and he chuckled. "Well, I don't mind at all" he answered and you glared at him causing him to raise both of his arms in surrender.

Sighing, you told him your reason and he smiled. "You can go home tomorrow after the final meeting. Since I just have to sign the papers and the business trip will be over" he said and your eyes widened. "You know I can't leave you here right? Who knows what you'll do" you grumbled. "Trust me I'll behave" he said and you shook your head "nope. I trusted you before and you broke it. Now I have doubts" you growled out. "It was one time!!" He said and you raised an eyebrow "ha? Are you sure?" He looked away. "That's right. So stop it and concentrate we'll be having the final meeting today" you said handling him the papers and he nodded.

Your boss was actually a good person that's why you stayed so long in the company. He was a bit childish and unreliable when left alone but when it comes to business he becomes a different person and you really looked up to him. The meeting started, as you took down notes and listened to what the other party presented. After the meeting, the both of you decided to celebrate since the meeting was successful only thing left is the contract signing.

He took you to a fancy restaurant and bought you clothes that were "appropriate" for the occasion. You declined at first but he was already at the cashier paying. There were a lot of rumors about you two but you just ignored it, he was gay and you had a boyfriend. He was also in a long term and you got to know his special person, he was a kind fellow with the look of an angel.  Now back to the present, you were in the restaurant and the waiter assisted you to your table.

He was looking at his phone smiling and you smiled too. It's good that they're doing well since a gay relationship isn't quite welcomed in the society, only open-minded people could understand. You both ordered food and ate dinner. After going back to the hotel, you showered and called your boyfriend. He was currently at training camp. As he answered the call you grinned, he was with his teammates and you could see Sawamura at the back laughing. So rowdy.

"Hey babe" you murmured hugging the pillow. He smiled at you "how's the business trip?" He asked and you smiled. "It was a success. I'll probably be back next week." You said then suddenly frowned. He gave you an understanding smile. "You know it's fine right? I understand" tears well up on your eyes as they began to fall. "Don't cry love. You know I can't take it if you cry" he comforted you. "But... It's the first birthday I can't be with you since we first started dating" you murmured and he chuckled.
