Chapter 19

The day of the Prom has finally arrived. Almost all of the students gathered at a luxury hotel where the venue is taking place. Boys and girls in their best cocktail outfits and some of them are taking pictures of one another before they went inside.

Zack and Jeremy were inside the ballroom just looking around and chit-chatting.

"When do you think Damian's gonna get here?" Jeremy asked,

Zack shrugged his shoulders, "Beats me. Probably gonna be late."

"You sure 'bout that?" a voice replied,

They both looked around and found Damian standing there wearing his navy blue suit and black necktie.

"Well, look at you in that cool outfit though." Zack complemented

"C'mon, it ain't that bad," Damian said,

As the room is almost crowded, the lights began to dim and the music starts playing. Damian was drinking his soda at the time until he saw someone walk inside the room that made him think that time has slowed down.

It was Maria and she was wearing a royal blue off-shoulder dress with her smooth, curly hair flowing behind her.

On the other hand, Jeremy just pushed Damian a little. With that, Damian slowly approached Maria.

"Hey Maria," he said

Maria turned to him, "Oh, hi Damian," she took out her phone, "Wanna take a picture?"

"Um, sure. Why not?"

Click! They took a photo and other music started to play.

"You look, um, pretty." Damian complemented,

"Thanks!" Maria said, "You're not so bad yourself."

"WHAT'S UP Y'ALL??" the DJ said, "This is DJ Manox. Hope y'all are enjoying tonight. Now let's get this party started!" he pressed a button on the stereo and played an upbeat tune. Almost all of them stood up and started dancing to the beat.

Almost half an hour had passed, another song played in the background. This time its the sound of acoustics playing.

While they were about to do the slow dance, Damian took a deep breath, "May I have this dance with you?" he asked Maria

"Sure," Maria stood up and they both slowly make it to the crowd.

Damian rests his right hand on Maria's back while holding her right hand with his left hand. While she places her left hand on his upper arm. Then, they slowly swayed from left to right to the beat of the song.
