Chapter 33

As the stone lizard loomed over them, Damian tried to stay calm and carefully assess the situation. He then grabbed both Maria and Justine's hand but when he tried to drag them out of the way, two large stones formed into pair of hands and grabbed both the girls away.

Damian was about to make his move when the ground below him grabbed his legs and pulled him in until he couldn't move.

Then, the two giant stone hands changed its form into a cage and trapped the girls inside. As they tried to break out of it, the stone lizard grabbed the cage, placed it on a long chain around its waist, and proceeded to walk away.

Seeing all of this, Damian managed to dig himself out of the ground and wanted to hide somewhere to transform into NightBlade but since there are people watching he couldn't do that or they'll be suspicious.

"Screw it," he told himself as he grabbed a metal rod and a long rope nearby. He then ran into the water and made a swim for it.

Normally, he would be slow when swimming but Damian used his powers to sneakily boost him towards the stone lizard. He managed to hold on to its tail and carefully crawled to its back.

He then slowly moved to where the cage is. Maria and Justine saw him but just before they were about to speak, Damian told them to be quiet.

Damian tied the rope on the chain and managed to hang on to the side of the cage. He began to use the metal rod to break the cage open and got inside.

"Alright. Here's what we're gonna do," he whispered to the girls and handed them the rope, "Use this rope to swing your way down to the ocean."

"But what about you?" Maria asked,

"Don't worry. I'll be right behind you," Damian assured her, "Now, go."

Maria and Justine held onto the rope and made a jump for it. They managed to swing to where they are near the water and let the rope go.

SPLASH!! They then swam away and headed towards the beach.

On the other hand, Damian was still in the cage and let out a sigh of relief after he saw both Maria and Justine safely back on land. He untied the rope from the chain and started climbing on the back of the stone lizard until he reached to its shoulders. He then held up the metal rod and stabbed it on the stone lizard's eye.

"AAAAAARRRRGGHHHHH!!!" the stone lizard groaned in pain. Then, with one eye, it looked on its shoulder and saw Damian standing there. "YOU'RE GONNA REGRET THAT, PUNK!!!" it shouted,

"You're gonna have to catch me first," Damian told the beast, and just before he was captured, he grabbed a long wooden plank on the lizard's back and used it to slide down to its tail and into the water.

The stone lizard quickly noticed him and punched its fist on the water which caused a huge wave of water.

"Uh-oh," Damian muttered as the huge wave is headed straight for him.

Back at the beach, his classmates saw it all. They were still shocked by the things happening so far.

They saw Damian trying to swim away from the huge wave of water but he was then engulfed by it and sank to the water.
