Chapter 28

A few hours later, the bus parked in a parking lot near a restaurant.

Damian woke up and just before he was about to stretch his arms, he noticed Justine lying down on his shoulder. He slowly lifted her head and moved it to the other side of the seat which in turn woke her up.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," she said,

"It's alright." Damian assured her, "Can you move a little bit, please? I need to get out of this bus."

"Sure," Justine replied, and all of the students went out of the bus. Some are half asleep.

"Okay, everyone. Listen up: We already reserved a seat for each of us in that restaurant so we might as well eat before we hit the road again." Mr. Aries told them, "Joshie, you're in charge. Make sure everyone is all present."

"Yes sir," Joshie replied, then turned to his classmates, "Let's go grab some food!"

All of them cheered and they walked towards the restaurant and went inside. One of the waiters leads them upstairs where they saw a long table filled with delicious food. They all sat down, said their blessings, and without hesitation, proceeded to eat their food. By the time that they're all done eating, they each contributed 20 dollars to pay their bill.

Jonathan thought about something and handed Samantha a banana, "Want some?" he asked while holding back his laughter.

Irritated, Samantha peeled the banana and after she ate it, she squashed the remains on his face. She then replied, "Thank you!"

But just as soon as they all freshened up in the restrooms and about to board the bus, Damian felt a breeze blowing past him.

"I gotta go to the restrooms," he then said,

"What?" Cynth exclaimed, "But we were there a moment ago."

"I'll be back in a jiffy," Damian said as he ran back to the restaurant.

When the coast is clear, he transformed into NightBlade and flew to where the breeze is taking him. After taking down the creature he found, he went straight back to the restaurant and changed back into Damian

But just before Mr. Aries went inside, Damian rushed inside a nick of time before they even ask what took him so long.

He then went to his seat but realized that the one next to him is now Samantha.

"Lemme guess: You sat next to someone you don't like," he whispered, and Samantha just nodded,

As soon as they were all in their seats, the bus driver turned the keys and stepped on the gas pedal. Their trip is far from over.
