NIGHTBLADE

Chapter 40

The fight rages on. Wild vines sprouting from the ground and they continue to expand as well as rocks being lifted up into the air and are headed straight for NightBlade but he quickly dodged every attack.

NightBlade kept moving around hoping to find an opening for him to strike back but this is all he could do in the meantime.

'Even if I manage to distract them, either the vines or that lizard will come after me,' he thought,

He then landed at the side of the pillar when he noticed the stone lizard throwing a giant rock at him. He was about to jump up until he saw vines sprouting above him.

Quick on his feet, he jumped to his side as the giant rock smashed the pillar he was on.

"Hey! You were in my way you blockhead!" the cloaked figure complained,

"Don't get in my way, punk!" The stone lizard shouted back, "I would've got him with or without your help!"

While those two were arguing, NightBlade found his moment. "Elemental Shift: Aqua-Pyro Variant!"

The cloaked figure and the stone lizard stopped arguing as they saw two swords headed straight for them and dodged the attack. In just a split second while they were in mid-air, NightBlade appeared behind them and punched them downwards.

As they were inches to the ground, NightBlade swooped in and kicked both of them to the side causing them to crash through the wall. CRASH!!!

The cloaked figure and the stone lizard slowly stood up from the rubble. They realize that they were feeling pretty weak.

"What do we do now?" The stone lizard asked, "He'll take us out in less than a minute!"

The cloaked figure thought about it, "Time for plan B," he then said,

"What do you mean by that?"

"Trust me on this one."

Meanwhile, NightBlade dusted himself as his swords floated beside him. Seeing the girls still on the cages, he was about to help them until he heard a rumble on the ground.

He then looked to his left and saw a giant spiked ball headed straight for him and quickly moved out of the way. He also noticed that the spiked ball is tied up in green vines and it retracted back to where he threw the cloaked figure and the stone lizard.

Suddenly, he heard loud footsteps. What he saw next surprised him. He saw the cloaked figure covered in barbarian-like stone armor with green vines on its back carrying him and looking like a spider.

"Whattaya think of my new kicks?" the cloaked figure asked,

"You look like that character I saw in the comics," NightBlade commented, "But I do admit that it's impressive looking."

"And you're going to experience what this baby can do. AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!" the cloaked figure maniacally replied,

"Sheesh. You're even worse than that clown in the comics." NightBlade muttered silently,
