Later that evening, after Damian finished his homework, he lied down on his bed and turned off the lights.
A minute passed, Damian shifted to the right side of the bed. Another minute passed, he then shifted to the left side of the bed. Then, not even an hour passed, his eyes shot open and sat up from his bed.
He quietly got up, slowly walked towards his table, and turned on his computer. He also grabbed a pile of colored paper. And so, throughout the night, he worked on a mini-project he couldn't stop thinking about.
The next day, he rode his bike to school. By the time he got there, he saw Maria grabbing her stuff from her locker.
But before Damian could continue walking towards her, he looked into his backpack, making sure that the thing he made last night was still intact. With a sigh of relief, he glanced back and noticed that Maria already left.
"Now's my chance," Damian thought to himself, "Don't screw this up."
As he quietly walked towards the locker, he made sure no one was watching. In a split second, he slid the note through the hole and continued walking as if nothing happened.
But all of a sudden, Zack came out of nowhere, placed his hand on Damian's shoulder with a smile on his face.
"You thought I didn't see what you did back there?" Zack said
"Whattaya mean?" Damian asked
"Don't play dumb with me." Zack replied, "We both know that you wouldn't do something like that without anything in mind."
Damian thought about it for a moment, then he just shrugged it off.
Hours have passed and Damian was walking in the cafeteria to find an empty table to sit down to eat his lunch. Until he noticed someone waving their hand at him. It was Jeremy and he is with Zack and William.
Confused, Damian walked towards their table and sat down beside them.
"What's up?" he asked
"Zack filled us in on the details," Jeremy replied
"Wow, you're starting to get bold now, huh?" Willard said with a smirk
"Mind keeping it down?" Damian told them, "What if someone hears you?"
"Anyway, details aside, we got something going on too," Jeremy said
Damian narrowed his eyebrows, "Whattaya mean by that?"
"Well, after you slipped that note in Maria's locker, we kinda saw her opening it right before we got here," Zack spoke
"You're bluffing, right?" Damian wondered
"C'mon. Would I ever lie to you?" Zack spoke
Damian raised his eyebrow. Zack then thought about it and just shrugged his shoulders like its not a big deal.
"Anyway, believe what you want but it's true," Zack told him, "And by the way, what was in that note?"
"Yeah. What did you write?" Jeremy chimed in
Damian didn't respond and he continued chewing on his sandwich.
"Does she know you were the one who wrote that?" William asked
Damian took a sip at his milk carton and shook his head, "No." he finally spoke,
"What?! Why?" Jeremy exclaimed
Without saying a word, Damian grabbed his empty tray, placed it on a pile of trays, and left the cafeteria.
"All in favor of pranking him on April Fool's?" Zack asked,
Jeremy and William didn't hesitate to raise their hands. "Aye." They both replied
Meanwhile, Damian was walking down the hallway and let out a huge sigh of relief, "Man, those guys couldn't take a break." he muttered to himself
"Isn't that what "friends" do?" Neon asked,
"Well, yeah. I guess." Damian replied, then checked his watch, "It's almost time."
"Time for what?"
