Chapter 39

The goblins hissed and pounced around NightBlade as he slices them to pieces. But they just keep coming.

He was getting tired. The more this keeps up, the more he'll be exhausted to continue fighting.

'I don't know how much longer I can keep on fighting.' he thought, 'I just need one more strike to end this.'

"Don't do it!" Neon warned him,

NightBlade didn't listen as he switched to his Aqua Variant. He continuously swung his spear around slicing the goblins one by one. He swiftly moved like the waves of the ocean and did not even falter from his movements.

Within minutes, all the goblins are gone. NightBlade switched back to his original suit and fell on his knees as he is breathing heavily.

"Guess I should've stretched before doing all that," he said panting,

"That was a risky move." Neon pointed out, "You need to be careful."

"Heard that before we got here. I'll be fine."

NightBlade felt the ground rumble and immediately stood up. He saw two large pits of green flames and there were two cages dangling above them with Maria and Justine on each one.

But just as he was about to approach them, he saw a green vine coming straight at him and instantly dodged it. NightBlade then saw a giant rock headed right at him and he ducked and rolled to his side.

"If you think you're gonna get away with this, then think again," he said,

Then, the ground rumbled and the stone lizard emerged in front of the pit followed by the sight of green vines carrying the cloaked figure right next to the lizard.

"Took you long enough to get here." the cloaked figure said, "Or else, this party wouldn't be as much fun as before."

"Cut the crap and give me those girls," NightBlade demanded,

The stone lizard chuckled as it cracked its knuckles, "Do you really think we'd do that?"

"No, but I was hoping for it," NightBlade replied while stretching. "Let's just get this over with," he said as he let out his sword.

The cloaked figure smiled, "Now that's more like it!" he said, and the lizard roared in agreement.
