Can't Change

Corinth's Pov

" It's only you." I held my chest in an attempt to collect myself for like the millionth time today.

" How did you get in?" I asked. She doesn't respond but just kept moving closer. "Want some juice, I spilled mines because you startled me." I turned toward the fridge and grabbed the jug of juice.

" So Caleb huh?" She said jokingly but with a hint of something spiteful. I ignored her while pouring out the juice into two glasses.

" I was trying to call you," I said pulling out my phone and showing her the call log. She looked at it but it doesn't seem to quench her thirst. "Why aren't you saying anything and why did you respond to my calls?" As I took a much needed sip of juice.

" Corinth, do you like Caleb?" she asked harshly. Not giving me time to respond, she runs up to me and shoves me back; my body colliding into the table causing some chairs to crash to the floor. I was still left standing.

"Alexa, what are you doing!" I screamed. I felt my body panic in response to her harsh touch. It reminded me of him.

My body aching, the agonizing pain. It was too much it was all too much for me. She doesn't leave time and without warning, she strikes me across the face. I felt a warm liquid drizzle down my lips and it scattered across my white vest. It was blood, I was bleeding.

"Alexa, what are you doing right now? What the hell is happening with us?"I pushed her off of me and she falls back down unto the tiles. My body was trembling. "I'm still trying with you and I have been but your making it so hard!"I cried.

"Corinth I'm sorry I don't know what came over me."Her hands in surrender.

"Please just leave, I can't do this right now." I held my nose and wiped away the blood.

"Corinth." She called out but I didn't turn to look at her.

"Leave me alone."

I heard her steps fading and I walked toward my bathroom. My reflection in the mirror scared me. My reality had really changed, what was happening didn't make sense to me.

"Hey Corinth why are the lights still out, I forgot my paperwork? I heard my mom's voice echo through the home.

"Sorry mom I needed to use the bathroom." I shouted as I quickly cleaned my face. "I'll be right out.

" No it's fine hunny, take your time, I'm leaving now I'll be back in about a half hour." The door slams in and I immediately broke down.

I opened the shower and slid my clothing off of my body. When the warm water collide into my skin, my sobs got louder and the room becomes blurry.

After throwing on my sweater and a pair of shorts. I took the pills the doctors prescribed and fell asleep.

"Are you sure you want to go to class today?" My mom asked me for the billionth time in the parking lot. She noticed my eyes swollen and I told her it was an adverse reaction to the tablets.

"Yes mom, I'm ok." I smiled.

"Ok but please be careful." she finely caved as she reversed and took off.

I let out an audible sigh and squinted my eyes in pain since the tap I gave my nose caused it to ache a bit.

Walking toward the hallway I noticed Derrick.

"Hey, Cori bomb," Derrick said as he walked up to me in the hall. He stopped and stared at me. Concern crawled up his face. But he broke into a state of temporary hysteria.
