Corinth's Pov

"Corinth ." I hear this voice in the distance but it doesn't seem far away.

"Corinth come back to me. " the person becomes clear. It's Caleb; he is sweating, his hair pressed flat to his face, his eyes weary.

"All for you not caring," I said sarcastically causing him to glare but with hints of relief

" Not funny Polaris," he responded, reaching to touch my hands but I pull away. I wanted to hold his hand I did. But I was afraid to feel his touch. Afraid to let myself grow accustomed to what he felt like.

"Where am I?" I asked. My head felt like someone jackhammered me in the head a couple of times.

"You're in the nurses' office you fainted. " Caleb informed me. His eyes were so pure as he looked into mines.

"What happened? all I remembered was Alexa asking me where I was staying and my body colliding into the floor and after that everything went dim until the darkness swallowed me," I explained while holding my head. The pulse in my temple growing louder.

"Ok I'm going to check her vitals, can you give us a minute?" The nurse said as she entered the room.

"Yeah I'll be right outside Ok," Caleb announced taking steps toward the exit but looking back every two seconds." if you need me just call."

"Your boyfriend is very sweet, three other students were here with him, I suggested they all leave but he begged to stay by your side till you woke up, so I eventually caved." The nurse explained.

"He isn't my boyfriend." I voiced.

" He isn't, but he seems to care for you a lot." She said while thinking. " He was so worried, I had to calm him down."

I wasn't sure how to feel about hearing everything but it was better not to let it get to me. Not to make assumptions about whether or not he cared.

"Oh ok," I answered while avoiding any continuation of the topic.

After doing the tests to see whether or not I responded as normal. She left to inform the principal about my status.

"Thanks." I hear in the distance before Caleb entered the door and graces me with a smile.

" Can I take you somewhere?" He asked as he walked toward me. I didn't know why but some part of me wanted to go and I gave into it.

"Yes you can, but how are we going to leave without the principle catching us?" I asked.

"Do you trust me?" Caleb asked.

Here the question was for the second time. I couldn't say I trusted him because trust doesn't come easily but I was willing to try.

"Yes," I said within a nod. His smile grew wider than ever before. This time his eyes smiled along with it and I felt tingly inside.

"Let's go," he said his voice in pure thrill. He grabbed my hands and ran. I mean I was weak as hell. Only seconds ago regaining consciousness. But I wanted to do this so I kept up.

We were now in front of his motorcycle. Both of us panting loudly while knocking at our chest to help the lactic acid break down faster.

"Are you ready?" he asked his voice shaking but in a good way.

" Where are we going?" I asked narrowing my eyebrows.

"That's for me to know and for you to find out," he responded. A smirk arises.

The ride was quiet no words were exchanged. I listened in for the finer details. The hum of the tires hitting against the bumpy roads. The aggressive roars of the engine. The current of the air-kissing the sweat that slipped through my skin. The feeling of pure bliss.
