Corinth POV
"Mom who was that guy?'" I asked as she joined me inside and she walked right past me. She seemed thrown off and her emotions were flickering.
She seemed locked in her head. No words, spoken just blank stares.
"Mom, who was he?" She finally looked at me and smiled as she slid her keys into the bowl on the countertop.
"No one, he is no one Corinth." She responded in a suspecting tone while staring everywhere but at me.
" The way he spoke to you just then, came across much differently that what you just explained." I turned to walk away.
" If it was important, I would tell you, he was just a childhood fling and nothing more." I never looked at her I just kept forward to my room. She was lying and I couldn't stand to face her anymore.
Before I knew it she turns me around and a tear lingered in her eyes before joining us in the present world. She doesn't say anything and she just looked at me.
I took her hands off of me and ran toward the staircase and I throw her a look over my shoulder. Her eyes still dazzling in emotion. I turned back to face forward; swallowing the lump in my throat and continuing up the stairs and planted myself on my bed. The ceiling enclosing me, time racing and my eyes finally sealed shut.

Morning came so quickly. My alarm blazing loudly, it almost reminded me of when Lexa would be demanding that I get up over our group chat.
Taking slow steps, while violently rubbing my eyes to keep them open, I skimmed through my closet and decided on a loose fitting tank top and high waisted jeans that I covered in a grey cardigan.
After showering and throwing the clothing on I ran down stairs while lightly brushing my hair over my shoulders.
I was met with a smell of my favorite pancakes. I knew mom was trying to make up for last night by creating my favorite morning dish.
"Good morning Mom." I whispered shout while taking in the perfect aroma. I could already smell the Collison of ingredients as the stove created the love of my life.
"Last night I never meant to shut off on you like that, can pancakes make up for that." She pursed her lips while flipping the pancake on the stove and lightly glazing it with butter.
"I think I can make an exception." I smiled while quickly picking up the pancake and chomping down on it.
"Choking is a thing." She nudged my shoulder while pouring me a cup of milk.
"You are right." I almost choked while saying as I downed the glass of milk. When I was finished swallowing and forcing my stomach to accept the treble injustice I just induced on it I looked at her." I have to go, but I hope soon you tell me who that gut really is."
"I will." She came closer and held my head in between her hands which still had a bit of dough on it and lightly kissed my forehead.
"Good." I smiled softly while wiping away the remnant of dough from my forehead." I'll be late mom, we should get going."
"Yeah we do, I'll just switch off the stove and we will be on our way." She ran toward the stove and grabbed up the keys.
"Lets go."
The drive to school was quote peaceful, no words were exchanged but the wind sung sweet hosannas and I couldn't thank God enough for the beautiful paintings he left on the skies canvas.
"Hey Kimmy did you?" I questioned Kimmy as she approached me as I entered the school's compound, her hands were interlocked with Ryan Davis. He was the most popular quarterback at Liberty High. But why?
