Corinth's Pov

"She's gone." My mom said and I unconsciously stepped backwards."her mom placed her in a mental asylum." She informed.

"I want to see her still I need to know why." I held her hand. "I need to know Why she did it ." I said while squeezing her hand tighter.

"Where is Kimmy and Derrick." I asked looking at the empty car that stood in the driveway.

"They weren't able to make it today but they are really worried about you." She slurred.

"Mom have you been drinking?" I asked leaning to get a wift of her breath.

"I'm sorry." A tear rolled down her cheek.

It's been months since she stopped. After the divorce she lost it. Drinking was all she knew. She shut the world out myself included. The only thing that brought her back was that night. The thought that she was the reason for what happened to me; made her change. She came back. She started working again.

"Don't apologize mom, just don't do this again." I spoke out strictly." I'm right here don't move away." I hugged her. No flinching. Just embedded myself in her touch. In the warmth that I was left to shy away from.

"Ok I won't." She hugged me back tightly."I won't."

"Let's go." I said pulling away from her. My eyes were filled with determination. I was Motivated to no longer hide in the shadows. It was time I made myself the person that I am afraid to show.

"You're leaving?" Caleb joined us and wrapped his hands in mine. I noticed my mom meets our hands conjoined and stared at it.

My mom cleared her throat and I yanked my hands from his.

" I want to know why she did it." I said and I looked at him. Hoping that he would cheer me on in this battle.

"Only if I accompany you." Caleb exclaimed his hazel eyes piercing mines.

"That sounds like a good idea." My mom joked while tapping Caleb's shoulder." I might just strangle that little bitch to death." My mom wasn't one to swear.

"Mom don't call her that." I was upset with her yes but I wasn't going to condole bad mouthing her. No matter the situation or what she did. Speaking Ill of someone does nor justifies any cause.

"Do you know where she is?"Caleb asked.

"My lawyer friend told me where we could talk to her, I kind of had a mind you would have wanted to know why." Mom explained.

"So you can send me the directions and I'll take her." Caleb said.

"Well Caleb." she slurred "I don't trust young drivers very much with my life."

"I'll be a much safer bet considering your drunk." He chuckled.

"Good point she rocked."

"Mom but you never let me drive." I whined.

" Did you hear something Caleb?"

"Nope I don't think so."he played along.

"Ok I'll just grab my things."Caleb said taking off

"That boy seems to like you, nothing happened right?" She leaned in while swaying; I held my hands out to keep her up.

"Mom really would something happen after all that have happen over the course of last weekend?" I asked nonchalantly.

"I'm still a bit tipsy, so excuse my nonsensical questions." She said wrapping her hair in a one sided bun.

"It better be that." I  said.
