Corinth's Pov
There stood Shenelle and Luke. They were smiling and chatting. I had never seen them like that in school before. How did they know eachother?
I detached my seatbelt and poked my head out. I know that I wasn't going to hear anything they were saying, but I wanted to make sure that what I was seeing was right and that the night wasn't playing games on my retina.
After a couple of minutes they disappeared and I sat back and played music.
"Hey lazy bones, your two scoops of absolute trash has arrived."
"Ha ha very funny, you just rather diabetes and I don't." I wiggled in my seat and unwrapped my bun.
"By chance did you hear anything that the two people in front of you were saying?" I asked trying not to seem suspicious. Which I mean was close to impossible considering I was never one to pry.
"Firstly no, and secondly what's with the interest?" He asked while adjusting hundred in his seat and slamming in the door. It always gave an incredible amount of trouble to stay closed, but mom said that he to take care of it on his own. It was suppose to be like a learning lesson.
"Oh nothing nothing." I folded my legs; while taking a couple licks of my cold chocolate ice-cream that was mixed with vanilla.
"You're a worse liar than mom and that should be a record holder."
"I'm not that bad number one and that's him, that was Luke." I swallowed loudly. Saying his name was always difficult for me to digest. I mean I moved past what happened and it was the final trigger to set me straight, but It was not easy to forget.
"You mean that's the dickhead?" His jaws clenched and his eyes went dark.
"Yeah." My appetite was a bit lost but I brushed past it and licked my ice-cream a couple more times.
"If I had known I would have punched the shit out if him." Joshua was almost fuming.
"They seemed to be pretty close, him and the pretty girl that is." His demeanour quickly alternated.
"Pretty?" I kind of choked. Joshua never complemented girls so softly." Since when does a player like you say pretty?"
"I don't, that was a slip of the tongue. Let's get home you have me fumbling." He sped off and before we knew it we were walking inside and laughing at who knows what.
Our neighborhood was really quiet. The only sound that could be heard was both of our voices echoing through the streets.
"Where have you two been?" My mom greets us by the door causing my ice-cream to spill.
"Mom." I whined.
"That was not my fault, and what are you wearing?" She said leaning forward and taking in the design.
"I have no idea, she calls me drunk and crying." Joshua mocked, while throwing me under the bridge, I punched him so hard and his ice-cream also spills." I kid, but you didn't have to do that."
"That's where lying gets you." I whispered.
"I'll fill you in on what happened in the morning mom. All I have to say for now is Caleb."
"Are you two back together?"
"No we aren't." My heart leaped a bit and everything that I felt earlier that night climbed back on and sat proudly on my conscience.
"I tried to tell her." Joshua said looking at the floor ,while shaking his head in disappointment." Mom's are so slow."
"Oh hush." Mom slapped his shoulder and he yelped.
