Corinth Pov

I hadn't seen Alexa for a couple of weeks and there she was, laughing and smiling with Shenelle as though nothing was wrong. As though what today represented was nothing more than a joke to her.

She was dressed in a dark grey skirt and a white shirt and her hair was tied back in a neat conservative one. Her eyes meet mines and I stood up to stair at her, my heart still racing pointlessly.

We stood there in time and her eyes flashed what would seem to be a scenery of guilt.  It was the first time that she looked like she felt something for me but I remembered what our last encounter with words were and I  turn back around and fixed myself into my seat.

"It's ok." My mom who was seated at the back of me now lightly caressing my shoulder.

"I know mom, it's always hard to try and understand Why she did what she did." I swallowed the lump in my throat and awaited Luke's lawyer.

"Good morning." A familiar male voice entered and when I spun to meet his stare. There stood Adrian Blake, Shenelle's dad.

His brown eyes meet mines and he seemed astonished. He stood there spaced out, watching as time trickled by, I nod in attempt to pull myself away and I turned to face mom.

"Is he Luke's lawyer?" She doesn't say anything. "Mom." I whisper shout.

"It would seem so." Her voice grows deep with a dejection of something hidden. "I wonder if he knew you were the victim." She snarled as she reapplied her red shade of lipstick.

"Maybe he did, he had to have known." I whispered to myself as I fiddled with my thumb.

"All rise, the honourable Judge Henry presiding." We all stood up as a tall, bald headed man in a officer's suit announced.

As we awaited the judge's arrival. A blonde haired man, who couldn't be older than 40 entered and made his way to the seat that was behind the tall confines.

"Everyone may sit." He does a hand gesture and multiple movements can be heard behind; before my lawyer stood up.

"Good morning, judge and jury and everyone here to day, on behalf of Ms. Sealey a young woman who has been brutally badgered by the men of today's society, we have failed to protect her and we have also failed to do our jobs as parents and enforce standards for our children to follow."
The jury listened in intently some of the faces looked at me ,while others lightly tapped their jaw.

"Ms.Sealey has been through what we would only presume to be a nightmare or something we are allowed to wake up from, but for her it's not. She can't just forget about it and move on, she is forced to accept the idea that the world is a wrecking ball waiting to smash in anyone in its path, and in today's ruling Mr. Davis is the wrecking ball."

"Objection Ms. Lyne is badgering my client's reputation." Mr. Blake stood up but his eyes never left mines as though he was speaking directly at me.

"Overruled." The judge said sending Adrian a stink eye. "Continue Ms.Lyne."

"What happened on the weekend of Ms.Peterson's birthday was a plan, schedule to rub my client of her sanity, she was dressed up like. . . ." The whole room was silent. Listening to the words of my story.

I felt a stare burn into my neck and my heart immediately reacts. I spun to meet Caleb, his eyes were so mesmerizing but they were insanely warm, I felt like I could rest my head on his retina and pray that he could reflect his strength in exchange for mine.

"Ms. Lyne would you like to call your witnesses to now take the stand?"

"Yes I do your honor, I will like to call Ms. Jayden to the take the stand." Kimmy's eyes were dazzling and I could feel her nervousness but she was doing this for me.
