Confessions...
Allison went to go look for her dad and found him sitting on the couch with her mom cuddling him, as they watched TV. The girl smiled to herself and realized she was staring.
And now everyone you care about is dying.
Her eyes widened, but she decided to ignore the voice and continued to walk over to her parents.
LET ME IN!
She heard it scream, as well as a noise banging inside of her head. She felt like someone was hitting her skull, over and over again. Allison grunted in pain, trying to get over to the couch. She collapsed in front of Lydia and Stiles and they quickly got up and grabbed her.
"I'm fine," Sal gritted through her teeth.
"Did you sleep last night?" Lydia questioned.
"I said I was fine!" The girl yelled. Lydia and Stiles shared a look.
"Okay then... I'm gonna go make dinner." Lydia excused herself. She knew Stiles wanted a moment alone with the teenager. Allison gave her mom a weak smile and Stiles moved over placing a hand on her knee, to comfort his distressed daughter. She placed her hand on top of his, gripping it slightly, and leaned into him.
"I'm straight-up losing my mind." She sniffled. Stiles felt like his heart broke, he knew exactly what she meant.
"I promise, you're gonna be okay. No matter what happens, you'll always have us." She nodded her head and gave a reassuring smile. They sat in silence for a few minutes, enjoying each other's company. Lydia walked into the room and Allison was quick to apologize.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Her mom asked.
"Yea. I'm fine, really. Besides from this crushing fear that something terrible is about to happen. It's like... I'm told I can't make a sound, but I'm holding too much, and then out of everything that could fall... it's this stupid pin. It echoes loudly and I'm left standing there, holding my breath, scared it's going to be too loud." Allison replied, holding it together. The parents had tears in their eyes and Lydia rubbed her back.
"It's called hypervigilance. It's when you have a constant feeling of being under threat. Sometimes it's more than feeling. It's like a panic attack and you can't even breathe." Stiles spoke softly. He knew the feeling all too well.
"The problem is that at some point, I eventually have to breathe, and I know that once I let the oxygen in... it'll all be over. Yet I still stand there, holding my breath, trying to last just a second longer, trying to fight my instinct... my reflex to breathe. All because I have some stupid hope, that if I hold on just a little bit more... I'll survive." At this point Stiles and Lydia let a few tears escape them. The teenager held it together, not wanting to cry. After a while, the family got up and started walking over to the kitchen.
Allison heard muffled laughter coming from the inside of her head. She started to lose focus when the laughing turned into screaming. It was still muffled, but louder than most of the other voices she's heard. It sounded like someone duct-taped its mouth shut. Allison covered her ears and fell to the floor. Her mother sat next to her and rocked her back and forth, in a hug.
"Sorry, migraine." Lydia's daughter apologized, but she knew Allison was lying.
"I'm actually not that hungry, can I just rest now?" Lydia nodded her head and Allison ran up to her room. She opened the drawer that held the nogitsune and said,
"Shut. Up." Ally closed the nightstand, sighing. She placed her pillows under the covers to look like her body and was ready to help her best friend on his first full moon.
Allison- Open your window.
Noah- What? Now?
Allison- Yea, before you wolf out! Catch this and tie it to something sturdy. Enough to hold my weight.
Noah- Okay?
Allison tied one end of her rope to someplace sturdy and threw the other end to Noah, who did the same. She looked up at him, grabbing a shirt. He mouthed, what now and she just laughed. Allison sat at the edge of her window and put the piece of cloth around the rope, using the excess as handles.
She jumped off gliding down the rope and into Noah's room. He helped pull her in and heard his parents walk down the hall. He quickly grabbed Allison and made them tightly fit behind an open closet door. He had his hand over her mouth and his room door opened a crack.
"Going to sleep early?" Malia checked in.
"Since I can't see Allison? Yea. But I am on FaceTime with her." He said, trying to lie. Malia closed his door and walked into her bedroom.
"Damn it, I forgot to listen to his heartbeat." She said, annoyed at herself.
"Don't worry, it's just Noah. Also, we have to meet Stiles and Lydia tomorrow." Scott told his wife, as they started to watch a movie. Noah used his newfound hearing to make sure his parents wouldn't catch them. The boy realized he was so close to Allison, not only were their body's touching but he was practically kissing her forehead.
Noah backed away and she gave him a sarcastic thumbs-up. The boy waved her over when the coast was clear and grabbed the chains. Allison followed him into his basement, which consisted of a random soundproof box in the corner with poles inside.
"Why do you have this?" Allison asked.
"I think it came with the house," Noah explained. Little did they know, Scott got it for him while Malia was pregnant. They assumed he was gonna be a werewolf or a werecoyote but he wasn't, at least that's what they thought. Allison chained up her best friend and closed them inside of the box.
"Why are you in here?" He questioned.
"I'm not leaving you!" Allison said, shocked he even had to ask.
