Inaudible Full Moon...

"You have to go! I don't wanna hurt you!" Noah said through gritted teeth, trying to hold back the werewolf in him.

"The box is big enough. I'll be fine!" She argued. The boy started to growl, his yellow eyes glowed and his teeth transformed into fangs. Claws grew from his nails and his face grew facial hair. Noah's ears went pointy and his nose started to shape differently. He let out a loud roar and started pulling at the chains bounding him to the box.

"Try to control it."

"I can't!" He roared again.

"You have to try and calm down! What makes you calm?" Allison shouted over the constant growling.

"I don't know!" He yelled, trying to get through the chains.

"Okay... take your mind off it!"

"How?"

"I don't know!" She screamed. Noah lunged at her. She grabbed his shoulders and pushed him up against the box, keeping him in place.

"Run." He spoke, growling again. She placed her hand on his face and made him look at her.

"Hey, look at me. You're not gonna hurt me." She tried to reason.

"I want to," He snarled.

"That's okay, but I'm not leaving this box. You can do this!" Allison motivated her best friend, who was pulling at the chains again.

"How did you change back before, at the school? What did you think of?" She questioned.

"I'm not sure!" Noah lied. As if someone hit Allison in the head with a bat, she heard a woman shriek. It was louder than any of the other voices she's heard so far.

ALLISON!

The voice screamed in agony. Sal tried to block it out, but it hurt too much. She gripped her ears and fell backward, slamming her body on the opposite side of the box. The teen gritted her teeth to keep from screaming out loud and saw Noah's mouth moving.

Allison couldn't hear him. Her vision went blurry as she slid down the box, fighting to keep her eyes open. Noah tried ripping out of the chains, but they wouldn't budge. He felt the full moon's effect but pushed it down for his best friend.

"Sal! Hey, look at me. It's going to be okay, we're going to get through this... can you hear me? Allison!" He panicked.

"I can't... I can't hear you." She said in between breaths.

"Hey, hey! Allison look at me, look at me. Keep your eyes open!" He yelled, full of concern. Noah knew she couldn't hear him. He walked towards her as much as he could, before the chains stopped him, and sat on the floor. Allison crawled over to Noah, even though she felt weak. The girl sat in between his legs and rested her head on his chest, trying to keep herself awake.

"You're controlling it." She whispered to the boy, who's chin rested on top of her head.

"You're taking my mind off it." He whispered back, even though she couldn't hear. The boy placed a kiss in her hair and they sat close together, as the moon glistened throughout the night. Noah checked on his best friend every ten minutes, making sure she kept her eyes open. After many hours, ringing filled Allison's ears and she shifted uncomfortably.

"Allison?" Noah questioned the girl.

"I can hear you!" She scrambled to get up. They both used each other for balance and stood up.

"What time is it?" He asked. Allison grabbed his arm to look at the time on his watch.

"It's six a.m, we made it!" She untied Noah's chains and they pulled each other in for a long hug. Allison kissed his cheek as they left the box. The two quietly slipped into his room, without getting caught and performed the dumb handshake they made, back when they were five years old.

"What happened to you last night?" Noah asked curiously.

"The voice in my head... it was a girl this time. The woman was in pain and full of sadness. She screamed my name super loud, it felt like someone was hitting my head with a baseball bat. I'll have to add that to my maze of shit!" She laughed.

"I gotta see that maze! Can I come over tomorrow? I told Travis I'd hang out with him today." Allison nodded her head yes and went to his window, using the shirt from before, and ziplined to her room. She gripped the wall and pulled herself in.

"You're crazy Sal!" Noah shouted, untying the rope so that she could pull it back into her room.

"Maybe just a little!" She laughed.

"You should get some sleep, you haven't slept in two days."

"I'll get there." She argued. The two closed their windows and Allison added even more to the maze of red string.
