Myths And Lessons...

The spot happens to be a room in the basement, near the morgue. They entered it and waited for around ten minutes. Jack opened the doors, walking into the room.

"What's up, Doc?" Tara said to the dirty blonde with brown eyes. They shared a hug and it was obvious the two were close.

"I will say, it's much better to see you when I don't have to use a blow torch!" Jack said in an English accent.

"I'm sorry, a blow torch?" Noah interrupted.

"And you brought friends. Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm doctor Jack Bing." He stuck his hand out and each teenager shook it, introducing themselves.

"We need your help," Allison told the man. He crooked his head to the side, while she explained the whole situation.

"Okay, now the Nemeton enacted the voices, correct? I mean you've had the night terrors only once. After that night, it brought you guys to the sacred area, which you touched. Then you started to hear voices and you became a werewolf." Jack tried to make himself understand and looked between Noah and Allison for confirmation.

"Yes." The two brunettes said in sync.

"Now the Nemeton acts as a supernatural beacon, it draws in old and new creatures from different places. It can only be found if it wants to be found. I've never heard of it giving someone supernatural abilities, but it's possible it sparked something in you that you've had all along." The doctor continued to explain.

"What do you mean?" Noah asked.

"I mean, you two might have been born with supernatural DNA. Why Noah wasn't a werewolf before this happened, is a little beyond my expertise. Allison's abilities are a little bit more complicated. I think the Nemeton triggered something inside the both of you."

"Okay, and what about the nogitsune?" Allison asked.

"Well, I think Travis was definitely on to something. You're not just hearing the dark spirit, you're hearing the human it used to possess. Void is beyond powerful. The fox feeds off of chaos, strife, and pain. The day you had night terrors, you probably experienced a feeling of fear, you didn't know existed. It would have caused you to have a panic attack or scream. The problem is that you can trap the nogitsune, but it will only slow it down." Jack continued.

"So how do we defeat it?" Tara joined in.

"Well, the person it took control over last, found a way, to not only get the spirit out of them but to contain it in the triskelion you found. That little box absorbs the fox's power. It must have been waiting for years to gain enough strength to do what it's doing now. I'm sorry, but the nogitsune can't be defeated."

"What about absorbed?" Travis asked. "What if someone were to absorb the fox's power."

"Usually, the person who absorbs the nogitsune... doesn't end well. The spirit plays a game inside of the human subconscious. The last person it possessed, must've snapped out of it and changed everything." Jack told the teenagers.

"So, you can out trick the trickster," Allison whispered, mostly to herself.

"In a way, yes. Although, I'm not sure how the last person was able to snap out of it. They must've had help from somebody else. There's an old legend, but it has never been done before." The doctor said.

"What is it?" Noah asked curiously.

"If one were to play the nogitsune's game and outfox the fox on their own, it would trap the power of the spirit and they would absorb it, completely becoming the next nogitsune. Technically, it would kill Void, but this particular fox spirit is still evil. The person would still have to feed off of pain and chaos. It would be up to them to use their power for good, but it's never been done. It always ends up corrupting the person it possesses. This is only a legend. Nobody can think like a fox, except for a fox." Jack explained. The four shook their heads in understanding.

"Why would it go after me?" Allison asked.

"That's a good question. Usually, it goes after humans, it can't be a fox and a shapeshifter. A banshee is more feelings and mind, there's no actual change within the human body. So technically a nogitsune could be a fox and a banshee, but that would make it more powerful than it has ever been. You told me you were able to recognize the voices?" Doctor Bing asked. The girl nodded her head yes.

"Maybe the last person it was... is someone you know, someone who cares about you. The nogitsune I'm sure wants revenge for being trapped all of these years. Do you have any idea who the voices could belong to?" He continued to question.

"No, but I usually hear two voices and only one is familiar. Except for this one time, I heard a woman shrieking my name, it hurt so bad I almost blacked out. My ears actually started to bleed." Allison told the doctor.

"Interesting. Well, one of the voices is Void, which is why you aren't able to recognize it. The second voice that you think sounds familiar would be the person it used to possess, and as for the woman that screamed, causing your ears to bleed, there must have been a death." The man said.

"A death?" Allison could barely ask above a whisper.

"When a banshee's scream is powerful enough, it can easily cause another banshee's ears to bleed. If a human we're to be close by during the scream, there's a possibility that their ears could bleed as well."

"So I'm a banshee?"

"I'd say so, you've probably already noticed your hearing things nobody else can," Jack stated. Allison kept silent, knowing the doctor was right.

"Since you've only been hearing the nogitsune and the memories it had, someone named Allison probably died fighting. The banshee most likely had a close connection to her, which is why the scream had a lot more power, causing your ears to bleed." He told the brunette.

"So, what do I do?" Allison asked.

"Figure out who the voices belong to. It could definitely help out your situation and whatever you do, do not open that triskelion!" Jack said to the teenagers. They all agreed and found their way out of the hospital.
