Chapter Eleven: Gone

POV: Gadget

Talking to Zero today was a weight off my shoulders, I really needed to get things off my head and I'm glad he was there for me.

After the stream, we decided to take a stroll through the forest, it was a nice change instead of the cave all the time.

The silence was comforting, it was just me, Zero and the forest. The leaves bristled in the wind and birds sang their soft songs around us. It was calming, and I felt relaxed.

*BAM*

"Huh?" I looked around before feeling a stinging sensation on my neck, I felt dizzy all of the sudden and stumbled on my feet. I collapsed to the floor and let the darkness encase me.

"GADGET!!"

Zero...

POV: Infinite

What the fuck?!

I crouched low to Gadget's side and noticed that there was a tranquilizer dart in his neck. I growled and took it out, throwing it to the side and pulling Gadget's frail body close to me.

I heard rustling in the bushes before hearing the shot of another dart and my neck stinging. I snarled and ripped the dart out, trying to not succumb to the darkness.

Must...stay...awake...

Gadget...

POV: T????

I got them! Yes!

I ran to the pair and took Gadget in my arms.

We don't need Infinite, but Gadget is coming with me.

My two identical tails carried me into the air, but it was harder to fly with the extra weight. I managed to fly to the hideout and landed tiredly, Gadget hadn't woken up yet so that's good.

"I'm back!" I announced and walked inside the small hideout in a barren location, I placed Gadget on a medical table and talked to my best friend.

"Hey, buddy! You got him, I see?" Sonic beamed and walked over to Gadget.

"I did, it was quite easy hiding in the bushes" I rubbed the back of my head. "And that dart gun works wonders, took them both out in seconds!"

"I hate to have to tranquilize him but you said he was hanging out with Infinite, wasn't he?" Sonic asked and sighed. I nodded, "Yes, he seemed to enjoy it too which is concerning"

"We'll talk to him when he wakes up" Sonic smiled and sat down. I decided to look over Gadget for any cuts or bruises, to my shock I found something more horrifying, I gasped loudly which caused Sonic to scram over to me in concern.

Not good, not good!

"What's wrong?!" He frantically asked.

"Gadget's neck..." I pointed to the side of his neck. "Sonic, that's a claim mark" I explained.

"Sooooo what you're saying is that Infinite claimed him, for what reason we do not know" Sonic shrugged.

"You don't understand, we took away Infinites' possible mate, do you know what's going to happen when he finds out?!" I yelled in frustration and fear. "He'll rip us to shreds!"

Sonic could see the terror in my eyes, he hugged me and sighed. "It's okay, buddy" he smiled. "Infinite won't kill us, Gadget would stop him" he spoke a valid point.

That's true...if we have Gadget he would keep Infinite from harming us.

I hope...

I sighed, "But still, I know Infinite won't rest until he finds Gadget. If that claim mark was what Gadget and Infinite wanted then it's true that they are in some form of relationship be it supportive or something more intimate. Either way Sonic, it's like taking a taking a bone from a dog, the dog is going to want it back using any means necessary to get it" I explained thoroughly.

"I understand" Sonic glanced at me. "Anything else of concern on Gadget?" he asked.

"Yeah, I noticed this scar on his side" I pointed to the scar on Gadget's side. "From inspection, it looks like a stab wound, the way the blade pierced the skin here is definitely done deliberately...maybe a wound caused by Infinite?" I suggested.

"Gosh, he's got marks of Infinite all over him..." Sonic sighed and ran a hand through his head of quills.

"Ngh...."

"He's waking up!" I exclaimed and watched Gadget. Sonic stayed close to the door incase Gadget tried to escape.

POV: Gadget

What....where am I?

I opened my eyes, still waking up. Seeing a white ceiling made me jolt awake and almost scream.

"Ahh! What the?!" I yelled and frantically looked around.

Where's Zero?...

"Wh-where am I?" I panted from shock. "T-Tails? Sonic?" I growled, I could sense Tail's fear but Sonic walked up to me.

"Gadget, it's okay" Sonic smiled warmly, I assume in an attempt to calm me down. "You're safe now"

"No! I was safe with him!" I snapped and snarled in return.

"Him? Gadget, you don't mean Infinite, do you?" Tails spoke up unsurely and gulped.

"Where is he?" I growled and stared at both of them.

"Gadget...what happened to yo-"

"WHERE IS HE?!" I snapped harsher and clenched my fists, interrupting Tails.

"Hey! Hey! Calm down!" Sonic growled and held Tails protectively. "Infinite is not here"

No...Zero...

I need you...

I calmed down a little but was still furious at them for not only taking me away from Zero but also kidnapping me!

"He'll come for me...he will..." I mumbled softly.

"Gadget, we need to ask you a few questions" Sonic stated and looked at the scared wolf.

"About what?" I spat angrily and growled.

"You and Infinite" Sonic narrowed his eyes at me suspiciously.

How do you know?...

POV: Infinite

DAMMIT!

I snarled as I woke up from the tranquilizer, I still layed in the forest but Gadget wasn't with me.

They took him.

How dare they.

"I will find you, my little wolf" I touched my ruby and I was given the location of where my wolf is being held.
