Chapter Twenty-Four: Action!

POV: Infinite

Everything was going well and coming together, the plan had been set and currently I was hidden in the trees watching the Resistance base, my silky hair draped down my shoulders.

The leaves covered me so I was unnoticeable at first glance, which worked as an advantage as Gadget snuck around the base. I watched him, still highly terrified of loosing him again.

No, I won't loose him.

I've lost too many loved ones already...

I shook my head and focused. Gadget tasked himself with the same job I had done in our previous plan - knock out the Resistance members that are in their chambers. Once he had successfully done that he would give me a signal to sneak in and kill them.

Then that leaves Shadow, Sonic and Silver.

A two verses three fight.

Seemingly unfair but life is cruel in its own way.

We just learn to improvise

We decided to take out Sonic first, his speed could definitely prove to be a hassle.

Of course, with Shadow being immortal and all that, Gadget and I decided to try and open Null Space for him and trap him inside.

Then Silver with his powers, he will either flee or we will trap him with Shadow.

And we will finally be free.

Of course, anything can happen during this plan, so we will still be keeping alert even when we are successful.

A soft flash of red got my attention, I jumped down from the branches and began to sneak inside. Gadget had already found a space to sneak in to so I went through the back of the base and it brought me into the hallway of the individual chambers. I spotted Gadget in the hallway and nodded at him, he nodded back and walked off to keep me protected from an ambush.

Sneaking into the first room, I layed my eyes upon a pink hedgehog. I pulled out my small dagger and crept up to her bed, swiftly slicing her neck.

The second room beside hers lay a red echidna. I smirked,

The so called "commander"...

I slit his throat too and entered the hallway again, turning to the third door and entering it.

This room held a white bat, I slit her throat and left as quickly as I entered.

The last few mobians left were quickly dispatched of in a matter of minutes. As I left the last room I found Gadget poking around a room full of information and technology. I kissed his cheek, "They are all done" I commented.

Gadget smiled and nuzzled me softly, "Let's finish this, once and for all" he left the room and stepped into the main room. Shadow and Silver were already there and Silver was surprised, Shadow - not so much, but there was a small hint of shock at seeing Gadget alive again.

However Sonic wasn't there.

I narrowed my eyes, "Where is that blue devil?" I spat.

"Out." Shadow replied sharply.

"Dealing with Eggman" Silver responded but received a sharp glare from Shadow.

"Is he now? He will be the last to die then" Gadget snarled, his ruby pulsated softly.

"You come for a second round, I see" Shadow crossed his arms and smirked.

"This time, we'll be the ones left standing" I retorted. "You are the only three left standing in our way"

"The only three? What did you do to the others?!" Silver snapped.

"They received small illusions and a quick death" Gadget responded and crossed his arms. "Would have made their deaths longer but we have more important things to take care of"

I was a little stunned at hearing Gadget's words.

Damn...

Shadow growled, "You killed them all."

"Correction, you killed them all" Gadget huffed. "If I had of lived that day you killed me, I wouldn't be so full of rage currently and the outcome would have been different for them" he shrugged.

He's right, if he didn't die we would have mercifully spared the rest of them.

Tough luck for them.

Shadow looked slightly stunned, his crimson eyes darted to the floor before quickly looking at Gadget.

"Fine then. If it's a fight you want, then a fight you'll get." Shadow spawned in multiple golden spears.

Silver looked torn between the fight, but to both me and Gadget's surprise, he opened a portal and swiftly left - for what reason we don't know but at least he's out of the question.

I growled, "It's your loss, Shadow"

"More like yours" Shadow responded and fired the spears at me, leaving Gadget open.

I dodged the spears as they whizzed past me, quickly gaining my feet and running to him before slicing his arm with the dagger I have. Blood spewed from the large gash and splattered to the floor below.

While Shadow was busy trying to kill me, Gadget worked on opening a portal to Null Space. It was my job to act as a distraction.

Shadow had me pinned to the floor, "I will finish you, pest!" he spat.

I smirked, "Like to see you try"

"Move, Zero!" Gadget shouted.

I slipped out from Shadows grasp and ran to Gadgets side, he had successfully managed to open a portal to the endless dimension of abyss. The large ball grew from Gadget's hand and he released it in front of Shadow.

"What?...What is this?" Shadow grunted and stood up, only to be pulled back down from the force of gravity and sucked into the portal, the portal closed after.

There was a heavy silence in the air at what we witnessed.

"We did it!!" Gadget cheered suddenly, taking me by surprise and almost making me deaf.

"Yeah, we did" I chuffed and smiled.

We did it...
