Teddy and the hippogriff

Once they had started walking out of hogwarts teddy had stopped tonks and let go of her hand then turned around and started running back towards their house.

"Teddy wait up where are you going?" Tonks asked as she started running after teddy

"I need something" teddy yelled as he ran as fast as he could

"What on earth do you need?"

"I-need-mo-ony" he puffed as he kept running up the stairs and down the hall

"Well you should have just told me. I would've let you go get him instead of you just running." Tonks said once she finally caught up to him

"Too late"teddy yelled as he ran into their house, down the hall and into his little room

"He needs to see me meet a hippgiff" teddy said as he met tonks back in the hall in front of their house

"Ok if you say do" Tonks sighed as she picked up him and moony. They were behind schedule before teddy had run off to get moony but now they were really behind.

Once they really got down to Hagrid's hut they met him outside. After tonks and Hagrid said hello hagrid bent down a bit to be on eye level with teddy so he could say hello properly to him and little moony who teddy was clutching in his hands.

After everyone had finished their greetings hagrid led the two of them(or the three of them according to teddy) around the back of his hut by where the pumpkins are at this time of year. And there he was. Hagrids giant magnificent hippogriff in all his glory. When teddy spotted the hippogriff his eyes widened in shock. He didn't realize it would be that big, he knew they were big beasts but not that big.

"Woahhhhh. Hippgiff hippgiff hippgiff!" Teddy shouted as he jumped up and down on the spot and waved his hands around. Teddy then stopped jumping all of a sudden and made sure that moony could see the hippogriff because that's very important.

"Would yer like ter feed him a dead ferret" Hagrid asked as he held out a nice big dead ferret in front of teddy for him to take. The only problem was that teddy didn't take it, he did the exact opposite: he dropped moony and ran away screaming n the opposite direction.

"Oh he really isn't a griffindor then is he" hagrid joked as they watched him run back around his hut

"No, no he definitely isn't"Tonks murmured as she picked up moony off the ground and started to go after him

After tonks walked around the house she found him sitting cross legged on hagrids front door step looking a mix of sadness and fear

"What's wrong teddy? Why'd you run away screaming like that? I thought you loved ferrets you always say they're cute and fuzzy" tonks asked as she took a seat next to him and handed moony back to him

"I do love ferrets but-but" teddy said as his lower lip quivered "IT WAS DEAD" teddy cried

"Oh. Yeah it was dead, I'm sorry teddy how about we go see the hippogriff for a little longer and then we can go home and eat some dinner and wait for dada"

"But the dead ferrets there"

"I can ask him to put it away?"

"Ok. Can we go now?"

"Sure"

*back to behind the hut

"Hey hagrid would you mind putting that ferret away? Teddy doesn't like it."

"Sure sorry bout that" he replied as he put the ferret away back where it came from

"It's alright. Hey teddy come here the ferrets gone"

"K mama"

Teddy spent about an hour with the hippogriff petting him and feeding him berries. Not the ferrets. Never the ferrets. He was upset though because he wasn't allowed to ride him or sit on him cause he was too young.

On the way back home after they had left his hut teddy wouldn't stop talking about hippogriff and how much he wanted to go back every single day.

Remus arrived home soon after they did so tonks made some dinner for everyone and they all ate in silence. Except for teddy. Teddy still hadn't stopped talking about the hippogriff but now since Remus was home teddy was retelling everything he had already told tonks so she was hearing it for a second time.

"And then I screamed and ran aw-"

"Bedtime teddy" tonks interrupted abruptly as she stood up and grabbed him and started towards his room

Once teddy was dressed, bathed, had his teeth and hair brushed and was tucked into bed tonks kissed his forehead and said goodnight. Soon after she left Remus came and told teddy a story about the maurauders or just hogwarts in general.

Today he decided to tell teddy the story about the first time he witnessed Harry, Ron, hermione and Draco meet a hippogriff just like he had earlier today.

By the time Remus had finished teddy was laughing and rolling around his bed. So much so that tonks has to come back in to get him sleepy again. Once she finally got him to sleep they both kissed him and then turned out his light and shut the door.

They were both pretty tired cause Remus had gone to work and tonks has spent the whole day listening to teddy ramble so they were both very ready for bed. Before they could sleep though they had to clean up from dinner so they did that as quickly as possible then changed into pyjamas and got into bed. They quickly kissed goodnight and then Remus turned out the light and they both fell asleep.
