Remadora after the war

Getting ready

Teddy asked every single day of the week if it was the weekend yet. They had decided to hold teddy and moonys "wedding" on Sunday so they would have all of Saturday to get everything ready.

Finally on Saturday morning when teddy asked for the first time that morning tonks and Remus could finally say it was the weekend

"YES YES YES YES YES! FINALLY" teddy screamed as he jumped around the kitchen while tonks and remus were desperately trying to make breakfast

"but its not today, its tomorrow" tonks explained

"but I wanted it to be today" teddy said as he pouted and sat down in the middle of the kitchen floor

" you can help me make some food for the party?" tonks offered as she sat down next him on the floor

"cupcakes?" he asked vey hopefully

"or a cake your choice"

"cupcakes he said after a minute of thinking

"ok do you want to start after breakfast?" she asked as she stood up and then helped teddy off the floor

"yes please!" he exclaimed as he walked over to the table to sit down and eat the eggs remus had been cooking the whole time

"before we make the cupcakes do you want to pick out your clothes for tomorrow"

"what kind of clothes"

"fancy clothes"

"ok, but can I choose"

"sure" she said as she took his hand and they walked to his room

after tonks had laid out all of teddys options on the floor and they talked for a while he decided on his dark blue button up shirt and a little blue bandana for moony

after breakfast had been eaten, his outfit had been chosen and  all the dishes had been cleaned and the rest of the kitchen was clean and ready to bake in teddy and tonks began to gather everything they needed to bake the cupcakes teddy wanted. while they cleaned and made sure they had everything remus went down to his empty classroom to grade some parchments and to make sure he could work in silence, which would be almost impossible with them baking.

teddy had chosen to make vanilla cupcakes with bright blue frosting because according to him it matched his hair. he also wanted to make them with no magic to "get the full experience" as he liked to call it. it just meant that he wanted to make the biggest mess possible.

"ok I think this is everything" tonks said as she looked at teddy who was sitting on his knees on the counter next to all the ingredients  they had just gathered.

"WAIT" teddy yelled as he stood up while he was still on the counter

"what? did we forget something?" tonks asked clearly very confused

"we forgot the blue" he explained

tonks stared at him for a minute

"the blue colour" he exclaimed

"oh, you mean the blue food coloring"

"yes"

"ok ill grab it"

once that had been resolved and they had absolutely everything they needed, they started to bake.

"hey teddy can you bring me the sugar" tonks yelled over her shoulder as she measured out the flour and baking sugar

"sure!" he called as he grabbed the bag of sugar off the floor. as he was walking he tripped over a stray spoon on the floor and dropped the bag and the sugar went everywhere

"oh teddy" she complained.

this was already a disaster and they hadn't been baking for even 10 minutes. this was not going to end well

"hey teddy would it be ok is I baked them while you napped and then by the time youre awake you can decorate and frost them" she explained

"but I wanted to helppp" teddy whined

" but if we take too long to take them we wont be able to decorate them in time" she tried to reason

"fine" he said rather dully

tonks quickly cleaned her hands and then picked up teddy and brought him to his room for the second time that day to nap. once he was in bed and asleep she went back to the kitchen to clean up the sugar mess(she used scourgify, even though teddy said no magic, the mess was just too big to clean without) and to finish baking the cupcakes.

about an hour later tonks had finished baking the cupcake and the were out of the oven. an hour after that teddy was up and ready to decorate. they made the icing and dyed it bright blue and then tonks set teddy down at the table with all 24 cupcakes and the bowl of blue frosting

"ok so now what?" teddy asked as he stared at everything laid out in front of him

"you just take a cupcake and the spatula, then you dip the spatula in the frosting and then smear it all over the top of it" she said as she demonstrated every step to him

"oh I get it" teddy exclaimed as he grabbed another one and began to copy every thing tonks had just done

a while later teddy yelled to tell her that he was done all of them. very messily but still done. just as tonks was coming around the corner into the kitchen from the living room where she had been reading she tripped on the base board and fell with a loud bang. teddy quickly looked behind him because of how loud it was.

"mama are you ok?!" he asked as he jumped off his chair panicked.

"no I think youd better go get dada from downstairs"
