The most wonderful time of year

Again, I know it isn't Christmas yet but this is just how the stories lining up so yeah

It was finally mid December and the three of them could not wait for Christmas, especially teddy since he was finally old enough to really understand it this year

Tonks had gotten out of the hospital wing a couple weeks ago after staying for two days madame pomfrey said she was better and could leave and walk

On The weekend before Christmas tonks and Remus had decided to take teddy down to hogsmede to go Christmas shopping . This time they would always have someone holding his hand and keeping an eye on him so he wouldn't get lost again like the last time they had all decided to go.

Since it was the weekend they had all slept in a bit so at around 9 everyone was up and ready for breakfast.

They decided to make a simple breakfast today as a posed to their usual pancakes or waffles . They all decided to just have oatmeal and teddy wanted berries on his. They used to eat oatmeal a lot but they had stopped eating it as much a while ago and no one could remember why

They got Teddy's ready first and say him down at the table with a spoon so he could feed himself and then they turned away for a minute to prepare their breakfast and by the time they turned back teddy had oatmeal dripping down his chin and arms. So that was the reason they had stopped having it. When they looked at him, teddy just gave them a lopsided grin and held up his spoon

Tonks and Remus both shared a look before tonks stepped away for the counter to grab teddy to go rinse him off in the shower and then change him because he was a complete mess now

While Remus was finishing the oatmeal he could hear tonks trying to get oatmeal out of his ear. He chuckled and shook his head, teddy was just like tonks. You'd have to be the child of tonks to be clumsy enough to get oatmeal there

By the time tonks had cleaned and changed teddy Remus had finished their breakfast so they all sat down to eat together but this time tonks and Remus took turns feeding teddy since almost none of it ended up in his mouth but rather everywhere else.

"Hey teddy guess what we're going to do today?" Tonks asked as she ate a spoonful of her own oatmeal

"What mama?" He asked

"We're going to go Christmas shopping!" She exclaimed as she fed him a bit

"Do you know what that means?" Remus added

"Nope!" Teddy said as he swallowed his oatmeal

"It means that we're all going to go down to hogsmede to buy present for each other, sound like fun?" She explained as she wiped down off of his bottom lip and chin

"Presents?" He asked

"Yep, I'll buy one for you and one for dada, dada will buy one for me and one for you and then you'll buy one for me and one for him" She explained again as she alternated between eating her own and feeding him

"Can I buy one for hermione and one for Ginny too?" He asked after a moment of thought

"Sure, we'll just need to find good gifts,ok?" Remus asked as he stood up to put his dish in the sink

After everyone had finished eating and all the dishes had been put away they all went to get dressed for the day.

Remus chose a dress shirt and then his usual brown pants and old brown jacket then he stepped out of his room to meet tonks who was dressed in a red shirt with her black mini skirt and tights on underneath and then her long black jacket over top because after all it is December. Beside her was teddy who was wearing his hufflepuff t shirt, blue jeans and his blue winter jacket

They all grabbed their wands, well not teddy but tonks and Remus. Then left their flat

20 minutes later once they got down to hogsmede it had started to snow and they decided that teddy would go with Remus to go find a present for tonks first and then they would switch off and tonks would take him to find one for Remus

After they said goodbye the first place Remus and teddy went was a little jewelry shop where he hoped he could get a necklace he had seen a month or two ago in the window. With his luck it was still there in the exact same spot it had been before. The necklace was silver chain with a little jewel encrusted  half moon pendant. It was perfect because it would always remind her of him.

After he got it and paid for it teddy said that he wanted to go to honeydukes so he could get some candies for tonks.

"Dada what does mama like?" Teddy asked Remus as he wandered around a bit

"Well she like berty botts or nougats" he responded as he steered him over to where they were

"Ok, good" teddy said as he grabbed a handful of both and started walking to the register to put them on the counter

"8 galleons please" the clerk said

After Remus paid he sent all the presents home and then took Teddy's hand to go meet tonks at the three broom sticks for lunch and to switch off

While Remus and teddy had been off doing all that tonks had gone to honeydukes first to buy a chocolate frog for teddy, she considered getting some chocolate for Remus but then again teddy would probably do that so she headed off to her next destination which was zonkos.

She had realized that they never actually got teddy that magic kit her had begged them for since, well the disaster. So she decided to get him that and then head off to her last destination before the three broom sticks which was a clothing store. Because Remus had had his jacket for so long it was very old and full of holes and patches so she decided it was time for an upgrade. She had figured out he measurement she would need a few weeks back so once tonks found one that met everything she needed she bought it then set off for the three broomsticks. On the way she did the same thing that Remus had done with his presents and she sent them off to the flat

When she entered the three broomsticks she spotted Remus and teddy sitting quietly in the corner ordering food and three butter beers.

After she sat down the food came pretty quickly so they started eating and once they were done tonks stood up and walked over to teddy

"Ready to go shopping for dada?"  Tonks asked teddy as she grabbed his hand to help him off his chair

"Yup!" He said as he jumped down

Ok so I'm splitting this one into two parts else it would be real long.  I'll update eventually
