5 Florrum"We need to go to Florrum," Rey decides.
"What? Why?" Finn asks.
She doesn't take time to respond and goes into the cockpit to tell Chewie. They get out of hyper space, landing in the middle of nowhere to leave again.
"Wait," Rey orders, scanning the dark space. "We can't see any stars."
All eyes lift to the glass and empty sky, noticing fluid on the windows.
"Space Worms" Finn considers. "What should we do? Shoot him open?"
They landed right in the middle of its mouth. A second less or more and they would have been farer away.
"No, it doesn't need to die," Rey answers, leaving. She sits down on the ground and closes her eyes. "Go backwards," she whispers.
The ship slowly moves while Rey focuses on controlling the animal. On the other side, an exit reveals.
"Go into hyper space" Rey says, eyes closed.
Escaped, with a worm that is in peace, but hungry.Florrum appears in their vision, the desert planet with red sand has a darker past. Rey indicates where they should land. The heat enters the ship as the doors open. The group starts walking, Rey leads, knowing where to go while BB-8 asks what is going on.
"He's right, Rey. Where are we going? What tells you to come here?" Finn asks and Chewie agrees.
"You'll see, we aren't far away."
A huge rock grows in front of them as they walk closer to it. Rey carefully walks around it. The sound of many people talking, ships and footsteps starts. It finally comes in their vision and everyone understands, astonished.
"I needed to check that. Those could start a revolution against us," Rey explains. "We can go back now."
"We could have just flown over it, man," Finn complains.
"Too late. Let's move or they'll see us" Rey justifies.
They let the enormous number of Stormtroopers behind. They aren't in lanes, it is a chaos of people standing and sitting, and they are many. A huge base is inside a rock, the massive door opened. Ships, people, air speeders, all circulating. While the Resistance was celebrating its victory, the Empire already started rebuilding itself. Without a Supreme Leader or a Sith, but still, they pulled it together and formed this. One of the ships flies above them.
"We gotta run!" Finn and Rey say in union.
No one really knowing why, they all run towards the Millennium Falcon. Since it's hidden behind a rock, they can't tell if it's still there. Next to them, a huge amount of hot water jumps out of the ground: geysers.
"Shit!" Finn swears, noticing all the holes on their way. They run, avoid the holes and geysers who become more frequent. After a few minutes of sprint, they manage to see the ship with around twenty Stormtroopers standing and waiting for the visitors. Everyone stops and expect Rey to do that stuff. But she's indecisive. Should she control their minds? Would the control work? Should she kill them?
"What are you doing here?" the leader with the leather on his shoulder asks.
"We went to see my uncle, a Stormtrooper," Finn invents looking at Rey to implore her to do something.
She takes her courage and says: "It's okay that we are here. You can let us back into the ship." But it won't work for everyone. Some repeat after her, others point their weapons at the four. Rey concentrates and Finn tries too. He repeats some sentences and something weird happens. He feels like something comes out of his fingers and he can reach someone's head. He enters that mind and places this thought into it. Another one lets his weapon down and repeat his words. Motivated and really proud, Finn keeps going until all of them are mind-controlled. They let them pass, the group walks into the ship. Finn nearly explodes wanting to celebrate at this new ability, but Rey keeps him low until the ship leaves the ground.
"Go back to Ajan Kloss quickly, we have work to do," Rey pressures.
"Besides that, did you see this?!" Finn screams out of his mind. "I controlled a few Stormtroopers. I can use the Force! That is insane! Wow!"
Chewie lets out a partying scream, Rey laughs. She doesn't mention that she reached into Finn's mind to expand the mind control. She was able to control more people with that. Of course she believes that there is Force in him, but it's not ready to really show. It will come soon or later. Finn hugs her surprisingly and she takes the time to feel him.
"That was a long hug," Finn says as she lets him go.
"Sorry, I needed a big hug. Thanks for back then on Yavin IV," she smiles. "I'm happy to go back home."
It's the first time that Finn heard her say home to another planet than Jakku. It wasn't really a home either. He flies back to the first time he saw her, as a scavenger, now she is the most powerful person he knows. The last years have totally changed his life. Maybe if he hadn't left the Empire, the world how it is now would be completely different. He would have never met Rey, Poe, his best friend, Chewie, Han, Leia, Luke, Jannah and Lando who are still on their voyage, Rose, C-3P0 and R2-D2, BB-8 too of course. Finn has learnt what friendship, family and love is, how important solidarity and respect is and what bravery and sacrifice means. Even though it could be painful for him to think about all the things he had endured in the Empire, he knows that where and who he is now, is the best version of himself. In no life, he would have modified something about the change and he will never regret the decision he took. Because he believed it was the right thing.
Finn remembers where he was today and wonders if a month really passed on Yavin IV. All the questions come up again, if the Jedis were real. He has no idea how to find out, how to start. As they touch Ajan Kloss' ground, Rey already leaves the ship.
"Tell Rose and Poe everything, I'm going into the woods," she says and disappears.
