Sage's POV
A few days ago we found out that Wells was killed but we had no idea who did it and no one would admit to it, even the people that hated him seemed genuinely surprised when we told them. Over the last few days Finn and I have been trying our best to find something to cheer Clarke up but with limited supplies given and how unorganized they were packed it was extremely hard to find anything of use. That is until I found a pencil. Showing it to Finn he smiles as now we just have to find where she is and that was an easy task since she's visited Wells' grave every day since he died. Not thinking of it we walk up behind her and just as we were about to announce our presence she turns around with her knife drawn and barely misses Finn's neck. "You shouldn't be out here alone. What if we were grounders?" Clarke and I give him a knowing look as this advice is coming from the guy who sneaks out of camp and roams the woods alone at night. "What? We know I'm the one here who's reckless and irresponsible. Doesn't mean she's allowed to do the same." As they talked I felt as though I was intruding on their time alone and went to go leave but Finn stopped me since he understood that I was worried about Clarke. Getting the conversation away from him and towards what we got her he waves the pencil in front of her face, making her smile as she knows it took us forever to find it. But sadly I knew the conversation would take a sad turn as Wells used to trade his things to get her art supplies when we were growing up because he refused to let me steal it. That along with him taking the blame for her father's death were some of the secrets he kept from Clarke and almost took to his grave. Now she feels bad for hating him and now hates her mother with the same amount of venom and darkness she directed at Wells. Usually when she's mad at someone she just ignores them or is extremely rude to them so I wasn't really worried about her doing anything and neither was Finn.
But when she stormed back into camp with the goal of making her mother feel the same pain she felt when she watched her father get floated we had no idea what was in store. Since he seemed to have everything under control I walked away as soon as we got back into camp and because I knew better than to get involved with Griffin family drama. From the drop ship I watch as she walks up to Murphy and extends her arm out to ask him to take off her wristband. Since she's standing right outside Bellamy's tent her words catch his attention and I see him and Octavia walk out of the tent with completely different expressions, one of confusion and one of amusement. But before he could take it off Monty runs over and asks if he can do it instead since he still needs a working one to try to communicate with the Arc. Thankfully even through her anger Clarke sees the benefit in this and follows Monty into the drop ship so he can carefully take it off. From what I could hear from outside was that it was a success and he finally was able to take one off without it dying on him, meaning we may have communication with the Arc soon. I also hear Clarke making excuses about her behavior and instead of listening to more I walk over to Bellamy's tent to see if he needs any help today. Over the last few days Bellamy has slowly come to terms with Octavia and I's relationship and has actually voiced his support for it. He's been saying the only reason why he trusts me is that he was my guard and that out of all the other criminals down here he knows that if I make a promise that I'll keep it. Although the camp is in full swing with everyone having a specific task to do somehow he's forgotten about me or purposely didn't give me one. "Hey is there anything you want me to do? It seems like everyone has a job to do but me. Even Octavia has something to do." He asks for everyone else to leave the tent except for Murphy so we could talk in private. Not wanting to push it Octavia squeezes my shoulder as she walks out of the tent.
"I haven't given you anything to do because I think you should also be in charge. Just like me and Murphy are. He said how easily you got everyone under control on the drop ship when the fog hit. What do you say?" I start shaking my head as the idea of having power over people scares me because of the monster it turned my dad into. Bellamy of all people should know this since he heard it from me first hand when he used to be my guard. But it seems that he expected that reaction out of me as he grabs onto my arms and shakes me slightly in a way to emphasize his words. "You are not your father. Murphy knows this, Clarke knows this, hell Octavia and I of all people know this!" Looking at the ground now he lifts my head up and repeats himself as he makes me look him in the eyes. I reluctantly agree which makes him smile and start describing what role he wants me to play and it takes me by surprise. On top of still being 'in charge' of Octavia he also just wants me to be the mediator when a fight or argument is about to break out. Basically I'm a babysitter for teenage criminals. But most of all he says that I have the same powers as the rest of his people have and shouldn't be afraid to use them if needed. Since this doesn't seem too complicated or something I should worry about I leave his tent and search for Octavia so we could talk. It doesn't surprise me that he needed me to be on his side as over the time we've been here no one has dared to fight me back when I've broken up fights or arguments. But before I get ten feet away from the tent I already hear someone yelling and it doesn't surprise me at all when I turn to see Murphy standing over a man who seems exhausted. All he wanted was some water as he's been doing most of the heavy lifting all morning but he was also the perfect target for someone who needed to blow off some steam. Knowing where this was going I motion for Bellamy to take care of it as there was no way in hell I was going to tackle Murphy as his pants were slightly pulled down. But he doesn't seem to notice what I'm pointing at until it's too late and the boy is covered in Murphy's pee and starts yelling at him. "I'm going to kill you Murphy!"
