Sage's POV
With the beeping of the locator in our ears and the noises of horses approaching us the hope of finding our people starts to dwindle away. For most of us. There still is some hope however from a few that have family or loved one's within that part of the Arc, which is noticed when Octavia and I draw our weapons. Everyone of us hopes that the sounds approaching us belong to our people but that doesn't mean we can't be prepared for the worst, given the very hostile territory that we're currently standing in. Not being ready would be an immediate death sentence for us all and that's not something that I'm ready to experience just yet. Especially with how exceptionally brutal the Ice Nation is known to be. The sounds of hooves hitting the hard ground get closer and closer along with the quieter sounds of people talking, but we still couldn't make anything out. So when they finally burst through the trees everyone looks over at us for confirmation, which we sadly give. Their white warriors paint is a dead giveaway that these people are Ice Nation and not our own, which is why we both now have to approach them to diffuse the current situation. They're not happy that we're here. Somehow upon our careful approach towards them they don't point their weapons at us and instead on our friends behind us who still have their weapons drawn. Speaking in Trigedasleng we talk to who seemed to be the leader of this group of warriors, trying to tell them that we aren't here to fight, but that we're looking for our people. That however takes a turn we didn't expect and about something or someone we don't even know. They're asking if we're looking for Wanheda, but that name or nickname doesn't belong to anyone within our camp, and we don't even know what it even means to begin with. With no one using that name around us there was no need to teach us.
Slowly a few warriors get off of their horses and walk towards us when they realize we have no idea who or what they're talking about. Revealing that one of them has the homing beacon tied tightly around their waist. With that in mind we try changing the subject to that device he has but before we could someone on our side started doing something incredibly dangerous. They started to approach the warriors. Turning slightly we both see Jasper drunkenly staggering towards the man with no regard, making us all start yelling at him. The whole time Octavia and I are yelling that we observe the commander's truce in hopes they wouldn't attack him, but that all depended on what he does next. One wrong move could set the warrior off and even the truce wouldn't protect him, which would end very badly. But we knew he wasn't and hadn't been in the right state of mind lately so when he harshly ripped the beacon away we all knew what was going to happen next. Immediately the warrior pulled Jasper into him and held a knife up to his throat, yelling at us to tell them where Wanheda is, but that's something we don't have. With our own weapons drawn and pointed at each other we all yell back and forth to either drop the weapons or to tell us where the person they're all looking for is. Everyone's yelling ends up blurring together until Octavia and I start yelling at them in their own language again, which slightly diffuses the situation. They're finally understanding that we have no idea who that person is and look close to letting Jasper go, but once again he has to ruin everything. With the knife still held to his throat he starts laughing and even smiling. Basically taunting the man who could very easily kill him in the blink of an eye. Hearing him laughing once again makes him angry and with added pressure on the knife he starts dragging it across his pale skin. Instead of hissing in pain his laughter becomes louder and makes the man press it even harder into him until blood is rushing down his neck. With the added pressure of saving his life since he won't do it himself we are left with no choice but to attack the warriors. Five or six shots ring out as everyone takes down one warrior at a time, saving the man's life, but also defying the commander's orders of approaching them nonviolently. Which is why when Octavia has to throw her sword at the warrior who was hurting Jasper she does so regretfully. This could be something she's punished for or that even I'm punished for on her behalf if word gets back to Lexa. Before yet another argument could break out my dad contacting us over the radio easily diffuses the situation enough so we're distracted since he hasn't been outside of camp in over two or three weeks. Never leaving Abby's side either. So whatever drew him out from behind the gates must be important. After grabbing our things and wrapping up Jasper's wound we all jump back into the rover or onto our horses and race over to the location he had given us. The ones that were welcomed there though or the ones who weren't injured, the others having to go back to camp for their safety or since they needed help. Which meant that Octavia and I were going back to camp with the injured man and also Raven. Her and Indra still not talking ever since what happened at the mountain and me not wanting to be around my father more than what was needed.
