Sage's POV
I wake up to the hatch opening and already see Bellamy staring at the grounder as Miller climbs up to talk to him about breaking the news about the kids we lost, telling their parents what happened. Of course Bellamy couldn't do it, he can torture someone hwo helped his own sister but telling people that their kids died is apparently where he crosses the line. "Telling their parents that they were killed by grounders, I wish there was some way we were getting justice," Miller says. I jump up as Bellamy holds me back telling the both of us that we aren't going to kill him, upsetting Miller and making me calm down immensely. Not thinking his next actions through he walks up to the grounder and slaps him across the face with ground up berries with a smirk on his face. His mistake was that he felt safe because of the restraints holding the grounder back, but as he fell to the ground after getting headbutted he finally learned his lesson the hard way. "You guys are still here?" Bellamy looks over at his sister and answers his own question when he sees our old makeshift bed in the corner again, having to put it back together after everything that happened last night. Again a small argument breaks out between us and I motion for Miller to go downstairs so we can talk alone and surprisingly he agrees. As Bellamy continues to yell I try my best to quiet him down but it only makes him madder and it also wakes up Octavia. Hearing his voice sends her into a panic and she jumps to her feet and runs over to us thinking that Bellamy is here to hurt him again. Quickly realizing she panicked for no reason she calms down slightly but is still mad that her brother is up here in the first place and takes over my part of the argument instead. They're arguing over if she should be up here, that he's dangerous, and if Bellamy thinks she ruined his life then why not let the grounder kill her if he's so dangerous. As soon as the argument takes that turn I give the grounder one last look and kiss Octavia's cheek and quickly climb down the ladder to leave them alone. I roam around camp until I find Jasper and Monty and help them organize and peel berries and nuts into separate piles while a group across from us is skinning deer. Monty's face gets paler and paler by the second and I step closer to Jasper so we can block his view of the deer, it's not that he won't eat meat, he hates watching it get prepared.
"What do you think Bellamy's going to do with the grounder? It's been days since he's captured him and who knows when his friends will come looking." Not in the mood to talk about that anymore I crush one last shell and walk back into the drop ship since Bellamy and Clarke have finally walked out of it, seeing Octavia sitting alone. She looks even more mad which I can't blame her for, her brother blatantly disregards what the two of us think and now she's locked out from seeing him. The whole time on the ground has been fight after fight and it's taking its toll as the gap between them only deepens and grows with every passing moment. Slipping behind her I wrap my arms around her waist so she can hopefully relax better since these seats are horrible to lay on without someone or something cushioning them. "Bellamy and Clarke are leaving soon. Something about a supply depot. You'll probably be left in charge," she whispers while playing with my fingers. I shrug although I'm extremely confused over the fact that I may be the one in charge but with Bellamy who knows what he'll decide if he does at all. Lately he's been lazy about putting someone in charge if he leaves for long periods of time and his only excuse is that he knew he'd come back safely so it would be a waste of energy. In reality he's slowly becoming unraveled by the pressure of being in charge and the need for a second hand or another person to work alongside him is long overdue. We keep talking about what's going on around camp, how we're feeling, and Finn's condition when approaching footsteps cause Octavia to silence me with her hand. The chairs we sat on were hidden from the hatch so when Miller is called down to talk to Roma's parents neither of us hesitate to take it as an opportunity to sneak upstairs. Successfully making it up without Miller coming back or sending someone else to watch the door I close and lock it as Octavia takes out her container of water and tries to get him to drink some. Like usual she starts talking to him in hopes that it will eventually make him talk to one of us back and today shows more signs than usual that he understands us, mostly because she's talking about her brother and how big of an asshole he is. Her words finally work and we hear a small laugh painfully escape his lips, making me snap my head in their direction. There's a huge smile on Octavia's face which I'm certain is reflected on mine. We're finally making progress and this helps with hopefully helping him escape as soon as we finish cleaning him up. Making sure the hatch is locked properly I hurry over to join her so this process can go by faster and before work around the camp dies down, that along with her brother being gone helps us slip past the gate without being noticed. So far we are cleaning his arms and back again so if he tried to talk to us, which it sounded like he tried a few times, we were too far away to hear since his voice was still weak. Very quickly all that's left is to wash off his face and since Octavia has already started my job turns into cleaning off the rag when needed. Suddenly we hear, "My name is Lincoln." Looking between us he repeated it since we looked at him surprised but he probably registered it as confusion since we never said anything back. Snapping out of it she whispers, "I'm Octavia and her name is Sage," as she finishes cleaning the rest of his face.
