Sage's POV

If training wasn't already in full swing then it definitely was now. After the incident at the bridge and the fact we know a war is on it's way training has become more disciplined and strategic. Jasper for some reason is still allowed to carry a gun but now has to have extra training with Bellamy to get him under control. With everything else going on there have been quite a few leadership changes to make sure we have our bases covered. While the changes are small it's now known that Bellamy, Clarke, and I are in charge. For me this made me uncomfortable but when a certain blonde asks you to do something you do it without question. So now Bellamy is in charge of training and protection, Clarke was of course the medic and the one the grounders would go to, and I was in the middle. I had no official task at hand and that made me happy but it came with the downside of being tiebreaker. Basically I made all of the decisions in the end because of how different Bellamy and Clarke think. Already I have to choose between what they want and this is only the beginning of a long cycle of different opinions held by the most stubborn people I know. Although she willingly came to our tent last night Octavia and I individually woke up to Clarke trying to sneak out multiple times. She wanted to go looking for the ship that crashed because for all we know, her mom was supposed to be on it. The problem is that it's on grounder territory so all night we had to wrestle her back down into bed. Now since it's daylight we can go look without the worry of running into grounders, but they're fighting over who can or can't come along. They're almost yelling at each other over this and it amazes me that the only difference is if Jasper can or can't go, with Bellamy wanting him to and Clarke down right refusing. "It'll be Raven, Finn, the three of us, and any guards but Jasper. The last thing we need is for him to shoot any survivors, the kid needs to learn how to control himself," I say. Bellamy looks like he's going to fight me on this but my glare shuts him down, there is no way in hell I'm going to listen to him excuse what he did yesterday and make it seem like it wasn't that big of a deal. Jasper's lucky he did shoot any of us. There were plenty of his bullets ricocheting off the stone and dense enough trees and there was no reason for him to be as out of control as he was. But with the three of us leaving, that leaves plenty of opportunity for Octavia to slip out of camp and go looking for Lincoln and that gives me a perfect way to get Bellamy to agree with why Jasper needs to stay behind. "Hey, with the three of us gone, who's going to watch Octavia? Wouldn't you feel more comfortable if that person was Jasper?"

My plan works and he rushes out of the tent to find him and his sister, easily finding both since they're yelling at each other again. Clarke and I pack our bags together in silence, filling hers with the medical supplies and rations and mine with rope, tarps, and our tent in case the fog decides to make an appearance today. Bellamy's is full of ammo and spare knives and Raven's full of containers in case she finds anything she can salvage and use to build different traps around the wall. The yelling finally stopped but it's because Octavia is walking towards our tent to find me, "Why didn't you tell me you were going with them? And why do I have to stay?" Of course her brother blamed this all on me and possibly got me in trouble with my girlfriend in the process. But she quickly calms down when I tell her why she needs to stay since it's mostly for my sake and the fact I trust her to keep everything in order around here. Sometimes you have to lie to Bellamy to get what you want, especially when it comes to Octavia because time and time again he doubts her abilities. She gives me a hug and kiss before walking calmly out of the tent while making herself comfortable in the set of chairs next to Jasper, watching me as we all walk out the gate.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as we arrive an argument breaks out about how grounders may be coming to attack us any day now because of what happened on the bridge. While I obviously don't condone what they did by bringing guns, this argument is useless since all Bellamy asked us to do was to be alert. If our drop ship crashing to the ground provoked them then this one definitely will. The crash created a crater twice the size of our camp and all the trees and plants around it burned away instantly. There is no way none of them saw it too because it lit up the whole damn sky. What makes it worse is that potentially Clarke's mom was on this ship and they can't just shut up for one second and look for the black box or any sign of her, this alone making my blood boil. As for the people who were on the ship they're either all dead or the ones who haven't died yet are probably wishing they were because every single body we stumble across is burnt to a crisp or is a pile of dust. While Clarke and I look on the opposite end of the crater as them I see a weird pink fluid leaking out of the ship, pulling the blonde with me as I back up and yell for Raven. We think it's rocket fuel but upon her inspection it's hydrazine and apparently this is a lot more unstable than that. She coats a rock in it and throws it into a nearby fire and a huge fireball erupts from it, making us stand there in awe and fear while Raven looks excited. After over an hour of searching and the two hour walk here this ultimately turns us around since it's incredibly unsafe to be here any longer and it'll be dark soon. While they walk away Raven pulls me back with her to fill up a glass container full of the pink fluid without them noticing, asking me to keep it to myself as well. She also asks me to be completely honest with her about Clarke and Finn, specifically asking if they're doing anything behind her back. My answer still doesn't sway her because of the way Finn still acts around the blonde, but at least all she has to worry about is her boyfriend and not the two of them sneaking around. We carefully walk out of the crater and speed up slightly to catch up with them, not needing to give the fluid any reason to explode. There are no survivors and the black box must've been destroyed but at least now we have a glass jar full of a highly combustible fuel?
