Sage's POV
Surprisingly that night all Indra told us to do was go to bed and expect an even earlier start to training than usual for the next week or so. She wants to get into more specialized training and doesn't want anyone getting in the way or distracting us, the last few days have been hard to get quality training in. That means she's going to wake us up herself and I am not looking forward to that at all. I hate when people wake me up and don't hide how mad it makes me but with Indra being the one waking us up I have no choice but to keep myself under control. She's always looking for something to get us in trouble or looking for anything that will set us off so she can teach us a lesson. So when I fall to the floor with a thud for the fifth day in a row it takes everything in me to not jump up and tackle the woman in front of me, instead just rolling over with a sarcastic, "Good morning." At first me falling to the floor would wake Octavia up instantly but after four straight days of it she seems to have finally blocked it out, much to Indra's amusement. Just as I finally open my eyes I see my girlfriend falling to the floor, landing right on top of me, the second her body lands on mine her eyes shoot open. "What the fuck was that for?" Usually that outburst would land her in trouble with the woman standing over us but today she seems to be in a particularly good mood and she's letting it slide. "I'll ignore that since you both have been doing really good this week, especially you Sage. You've finally caught up to Octavia." Another reason she's in a good mood is because today is the first day of planning our attack now that we know Bellamy made it inside. She also gets to go back to Tondc, and today can't go by fast enough it seems. While she's adjusted to life in Camp Jaha she still doesn't like how we run things around here and back at Tondc is the only person that matches her energy and intensity. Lexa. We finally climb to our feet and start changing while she waits for us. One thing we learned is that grounders, or at least just Indra, have no sense of privacy whatsoever or are just not shy at getting dressed or changed in front of other people. Today is hand-to-hand combat day and for the first time this week I have an upper hand over Octavia in something. Everything else, like Indra said, I had to catch up on. But this is the one thing she needs to catch up with me and right away it's noticeable that she isn't happy with this one bit. "Don't worry babe I'll take it easy on you," I say before kissing her and turning to run outside, the last thing she sees is me winking at her before darting around the corner at the end of the hallway.
When I get outside and see no one there I sigh in relief because we can actually go as hard as we want to, for some reason Abby always stops us when it gets 'out of hand' or something like that. She thinks we'll hurt ourselves but how else are we supposed to learn and not like Indra wants us to be careful because who knows when we're going to launch our attack on Mount Weather. At the last second I hear Octavia's footsteps behind me and jump out of the way of her attempt of taking me down, instead using her momentum against her and throwing her to the ground. Behind me I can hear Indra silently laughing at us before calling us over. "That's what I'm going to teach you today Octavia. You blew your cover when you got too close and she used it against you." Like usual she throws us into just figuring it out ourselves while throwing random comments at us in the moment, analyzing our every move as if looking through a microscope. It wasn't until she finally took me down to the ground, after numerous attempts, that Indra pulled us apart. Now that she figured it out she wants her to do it until she perfects the move, which means I have to deal with being thrown around repeatedly without being able to defend myself. I don't know about you but I don't know what else I'd rather do all morning, having your body slammed into the ground and face in the dirt is absolutely lovely. After getting thrown about ten times now my body is starting to ache and Indra doesn't seem even close to telling Octavia that she finally got it down. So when she goes to tackle me again I make a counter move and pin her down instead, using the time to catch my breath, which was knocked out every single time I hit the ground. Indra walks over and offers to help me to my feet but the second I grabbed onto her hand I knew something was up, her grip was too tight and her stance was directed to her side. At the last second I pull her towards me and roll her onto the ground, making Octavia's eyes widen in fear, and Indra fall with a loud thud and groan. "See that. That's how you do it." My jaw dropped because the whole time I could've stopped Octavia from tackling me and showed her what to do but I was being too patient. This time Indra lets me lay on the ground and asks for Octavia to take her down instead, but not before telling me to not be as patient next time. That is one of my weaknesses, I can dodge attacks all damn day and need to learn to strike earlier or sometimes be the one to strike first. Now after tackling me all morning Octavia's first attempt on Indra is deemed perfect, making me flip her off with a groan, "You seriously couldn't do that before!?" With that our training session is over and it's also right on time with the first people waking up and exiting the Arc. Gently helping me up Octavia says, "Oh I could the whole time. It's just really fun being able to throw you around," her signature smirk on display. Even with how sore I was it all went away when she said that and before she knew it I tacked her to the ground again. With Indra standing off to the side we roll around for a while until I pin her down in such a way that she has no chance of escaping, making the woman finally pull us apart. "Come on you two. Go get ready and get something to eat. We're leaving soon." We reluctantly break apart and rush to our room so by the time we finish there might still be some decent food waiting for us in the mess hall. By descent I mean at least edible. None of the food is actually food, it's just meant to fill you up and get you the right amount of nutrients, so obviously it tastes like absolute shit.
