Sage's POV

Today is the day where our final strategy meeting takes just hours place before we take our final approach towards the mountain. I've been with Lexa for the last two hours while she gets ready for the meeting to start and it's very easy for me to see how stressed she is. Others may take her somewhat erratic behavior and brush it aside with the lame 'restless' excuse but after being around her for so long her true feelings have risen to the surface. With me being her second talking about our emotions isn't common but with us being friends first the topic of discussion is always at the forefront. Even if she lies straight to my face a majority of the time. "If you're worried about the meeting or when we go in to attack everything will be fine," I say while helping her put her armor on. Although helping her get ready is the most important task at hand I can't help but use our closeness as a way to gage her emotions. Especially when she can't move much because of all the buckles needing to be tightened up on her armor. When she doesn't react much the energy in the room dramatically flips and in its wake is a more nervous and uncertain energy. She doesn't seem as confident with what's bothering her which means it has something to do with her or someone else's emotions. What's bothering her so much and so deeply has to be Clarke. "If you're worried about a certain blonde then I'll also say with utmost certainty everything will be alright with her too." Although I just buckled the last buckle on her armor she still doesn't follow me back to the main room of the tent which makes me extremely nervous. Either I just made her angry by perfectly reading her emotional state or she's letting my words sink in. With how unpredictable she is I just really hope it's the latter or I just made her angry before the most important war meeting of our lives. Thankfully though a few moments later she walks into the room and rubs my shoulder in an attempt to alleviate my newfound stress, making it silently known that she's very grateful for my advice. Now she helps me put my new armor on which is a lot easier hers since it's mostly thick pieces of dark colored leather. Once she helped zip up the last piece I thought we were done and went to usher in the other grounder warriors but she quickly stopped me. Walking back to her one trunk she takes out her warrior face paint and holds my face still with one hand while her other dips inside the container before carefully painting an intricate pattern across my face. Once satisfied she takes a step back with a ghost of a smile and then allows me to bring in the rest of her impatient warriors. Not even giving me a moment or two to even look in one of her broken mirrors to see what I look like. Either way with a simple head nod and a quiet 'thank you' I go to the mouth of the tent to usher them in.

"Today is the day we get our people back. The enemy thinks they're safe behind their doors, but they're not." She slightly excites her warriors by promising them a fight but then allows Clarke to explain the rest of the mission, especially when she's the one in possession of the highly combustible bomb. Without her even opening her mouth it's noticeable that many of the grounders aren't exactly happy to have to listen to her. But with their commander ordering them too and watching them closely they have no choice but to keep their mouths shut or risk being left behind. "This is simply a rescue mission. We aren't here to wipe them out. There are people in that mountain that have turned their backs on their own people and have helped us." She makes it absolutely clear that the children and innocent people are to be spared and the only people that can be killed are their military along with their chain of command. Once everyone makes it known that they understand their orders she goes over the sophisticated plan Clarke and Lexa have told me for weeks, one that I've practically memorized by now.

There are four teams, one of them at the dam and in the mine are moving into position as we speak. That's where Octavia is right now and why she isn't at this meeting along with Indra. The third team is within the mountain, and as we speak they are freeing the very  many available grounder prisoners. Now as the fourth team we're expected to distract the enemies as long as humanly possible. That's why we'll be positioned at the front door with the bomb and the rest of the grounder army. The door is unguarded because they believe it's impossible for it to be opened from the outside. It can be with a little help from the team at the dam who will cut the power and give us the seconds we need to get through the door with the bomb. The only issue is the backup generator they have within the mountain that'll take over after a minute, giving us a very small window to get inside. Once the door opens the shooting will start and they'll throw everything they have at us to make sure we don't get inside. Which is what we want. Because then it'll give Indra and her team the cover they need when they infiltrate the mountain and get everyone out before they even notice they're gone. The power being cut will allow her team to get into their back door with ease and hopefully by then Bellamy will meet them there with the remaining grounders and our people. Although the plan is quite complicated from the jump if everything goes right in the very beginning the rest will be easy. After her speech the room falls silent while they obediently wait for their commander to speak to them once again. Instead Lexa starts a simple chant calling for the blood of the mountain's leadership to be spilled in an act of revenge for what they've done. For the years of hunting, killing, and turning them into monsters. Unsurprisingly that chant lasts all the way to when we arrive at the giant sealed door of the massive bunker and it doesn't show any signs of stopping soon.
