Molly

Imagine having the audacity to do this to Molly😠

You hate it here.

Your grip on the piece of rotting fruit you had just received tightens until the fruit ruptures, covering your hand in pungent fruit juice.

You hastily wipe your hand against your shirt, and your anger flares.

These animals didn't appreciate you!! You had just spent hours searching for Raymond's missing family member, and after letting him have the kid back, all he can give you is garbage??

Furiously, you slam the fruit against the ground; it explodes.

You wipe the rotting chunks off of your face before deciding you weren't giving any hostages back ever again.

As you start to make your way towards your white van, someone calls your name.

With a sigh, you turn to see Molly waddling over to you. If she wasted your time, you could easily kick her into the nearby river…

"Y/N!" She repeats as soon as she reaches you. "Could you help me with something? I lost my diary, and--"

Your eye twitches, and she pauses.

Hesitantly, she asks, "Are...Are you okay?"

"Of course," you say through grinding teeth. "Why wouldn't I be?"

Molly watches you for another minute before nodding.

"Well, like I was saying," She continues after deciding to ignore your obvious fury. "I think I dropped it next to Barold's house. I was so afraid he would come out and mug me, I became so careless!!"

Everyone knew Barold didn't steal things from people; that was Punchy.

You narrow your eyes at her suspiciously. Molly had lived here for a few weeks now; she would have learned about this sooner rather than later.

"Barold doesn't mug." You explain, just in case she hadn't been a robbery victim yet. "He kidnaps ki-"

"I'll give you a share of my lunch in exchange!" Molly interrupts as she eagerly gestures at a picnic basket leaning against a nearby tree. "I have a great new soup recipe I found, just for you!"

Great. You didn't care.

As Molly leaves you with this new task, you feel a frustrated sob become stuck in your throat. Why couldn't you have a break for once??

You enter your van and slam your foot down on the gas pedal. The sooner you got this done, the sooner you could go home.

The drive to Barold's house is only a minute long since you were already pretty close to the residential area of the town.

Just as Molly indicated, the diary was laying in the grass besides the house. What she hadn't mentioned, however, was that Barold was going through it.

Before you can drive away, Barold spots you. With a smile, he waves you over.

"Come check this out, Y/N!" He screams at you as your hand twitches on the wheel. Failing to see a way out of this, you turn off the engine and exit the safety of your vehicle.

Once you've sat down next to Barold in the grass, he coughs nastily. You grimace as his germs land on your arms.

"I didn't know Molly was a writer!" Barold tells you once he's recovered from his coughing fit. He lifts the diary up to emphasize his point. "This is some good stuff!"
