Believe It- Naruto X Reader

You looked back and forth, confused as to why Naruto was standing in your doorway at the godforsaken hour of 6 am. You made that clear to him also, frowning further when he asked to come in. As much as you loved this boy, which was more than you cared to admit, sleep would always be your first love.

"Is it just me or is the sun not up? Just wondering." The blonde just laughed, pointing to your open window. "The sun is already up, believe it!" Closing your eyes, you shut your curtains. "You have to 'see it to believe it', so as long as I'm not looking at it, I don't have to believe in anything. Therefore, the sun is not out yet."

    Naruto shot you a dubious look, before grabbing your hand and yanking onto the couch. "What's going on, Naru? Is something wrong?" He shook his head, reminding you of an energetic puppy.

"No, no! It's just that..." He exhaled, concerning you further, "there's a festival tonight at eight and I want you to go with me!" He rushed out in one breath. You blinked, taking a few extra moments to process the request.

When you did you giggled. "You came all the way here at the crack of dawn to ask that? Of course, I'll go with you!" His grin seemed to brighten up the whole room and your mood. The very smile you had fallen in love with.

"I'll see you there, (Y/N/N)!" He exclaimed, wrapping you in a hug only Naruto Uzumaki was capable of before running out the door, leaving you in a daze.

You felt your heart fluttering at the prospect of going on a date with your longtime crush... but was it a date? Surely, he wouldn't have made such a big deal out of it if it wasn't one, right?

Now, much to your chagrin, you were now wide awake, and too nervous to sleep. With a groan, you hauled yourself into your bathroom to begin your morning schedule.

    As you finished dressing for the day, you heard a loud knocking out your door. Heart stuttering at the prospect of seeing Naruto, you practically ran to the door. Your heart sank when you saw no one there.
   
Instead, was a little box. Grabbing it, you sighed closing your door. You unwrapped it, not expecting to see much. However, your breath hitched when a small (silver/gold) locket laid inside.
   
Engraved on the front was 'Naru + (Y/N/N)' and on the back was 'BELIEVE IT'. Tears brimmed your eyes as you giggled at the sweetness of the gesture and the confession in the beautiful necklace. You immediately clasped it around your neck before opening the note.

    "Hey, (Y/N)... you're probably wondering what's going on, huh? I've been getting this weird feeling in my chest and my face gets all red when you hug me or talk to me and sometimes I wonder what it feels like to know wHAT THE F*CK IS GOING ON."
   
You snickered at that part, relating to that feeling. (A/N: Cuz we all have those moments)
"All that to say... I really like you, (Y/N), more than a friend. If you feel the same will you wear the locket for our date? -Love, Naruto"

    Your fingers brushed over the locket you were already wearing, your decision made up. Naruto had best believe this was the start of something new, something beautiful.
