"What- what are you doing here?!" His arms crossed and he stepped away from you. "Naruto brought me here, same as you." You nodded, awkwardly fiddling with your hands. It was silent for a moment and you didn't dare make eye contact with the ravenette.

"Where have you been? I haven't seen you in months." You sighed, moving away from the door. "Let's at least sit before we have this conversation," You muttered.

Sasuke frowned, but still obeyed nonetheless. He took a seat at Naruto's table watching as you moved around the kitchen.

"I'm, uh, making tea," You whispered. He scoffed. "You're stalling, (Y/N)." Even with his scolding tone, you couldn't stop the pleasant feelings erupting in your stomach at the way your name left his lips.

You didn't bother responding, you both knew his assumption was right. You gripped the edge of the countertop trying to calm your heart rate as the water boiled. The silence was suffocating and deafening in a way that it had never been before.

Your hands shook as you prepared the tea, much to your horror. The fact that you could practically feel Sasuke's gaze drilling into your back certainly didn't help. You stared at the cups of tea as you set one down in front of him and then sat down across from him.

"Well?" Your eyes flickered up to his. "Well, what?" His eyes flashed in frustration. "Don't play stupid, (Y/N), why have you been avoiding me?" You huffed. "I've been busy, I'm a shinobi too you k-"

"Cut the bullshit!" He hissed lowly. "I've seen ANBU members more often than I see you. Tell me the real reason, and make it quick because you're not leaving until you do." Your eyes widened a margin at the thinly veiled threat.

"Why do you even care? You made it pretty obvious you didn't like me at all. There's plenty of other people you can spar with. Like Lee or something." His face soured at the suggestions and if the circumstances were different, you probably would've laughed.

"That doesn't explain anything, nor does that answer my question in the slightest." You slammed your hand on the table, ignoring the way the tea sloshed over the side of their cup.

"I don't owe you an explanation, Sasuke! We weren't friends, you told me yourself!"
He lowered his eyes to his own drink before taking a sip. "So what, did you mean it or not, because you're making no sense."

He clenched his teeth as if the answer was physically taxing for him to say. "Yes, I said that, but I... didn't mean it-" You laughed humorlessly. "Oh, was I just supposed to know? So this was my fault?" The Uchiha growled, clearly losing his patience.

"Let me finish, (Y/N)!" He boomed, startling you. He paused for a moment, getting a reign on his emotions. "I'm not saying you should've known." He rubbed his temples trying to string together a coherent sentence, but you interrupted before he could.

"I didn't mean to upset you. I... really like you, Sasuke. I just got tired of being pushed aside all the time," You confessed quietly.

The tension in the air seemed to thicken with your revelation and you took refuge in hiding your face in your teacup; anything to avoid looking him in the eye. "You do?" You rolled your eyes childishly. "I didn't stutter, did I?"

You caught the hint of a smirk playing at his lips before it disappeared just as quickly. "I was... wrong for how I treated you, and for that I'm... sorry." You smirked, a chuckle escaping your lips.

"That sure sounded like a struggle for you to say," You teased. A glare cut off your laugh abruptly, but your smile remained. "I missed you, Sasuke." He stared into your eyes as if searching for something.

"Hn. I did too." A slow smile spread across your lips as you stood up. With a raised eyebrow, he stood up as well.

He grunted as you catapulted yourself into his chest, causing you to snicker. "So... you like me, huh?" You sighed at his teasing question. "I do, but it doesn't mat-"

You gasped as his hands rested on your face, a small up tilt to his lips. "I think I do too." Chilly lips landed on yours and you felt the tension melt away.

It was good to have Sasuke back.
