Believing In You- Kiba X Reader

"Please, baby, you can't go!" You set down the mission file with a heavy sigh.

As much as you didn't blame Kiba for not wanting you to go on such a dangerous mission, you were a shinobi and a skilled one at that. You couldn't just refuse something the Hokage had requested.

"Kiba, believe me, if I didn't have to I wouldn't go, but I have to." The brunette scowled which in turn made your frown. You couldn't help but think that such negative expressions didn't suit your lover.

    "Tsunade can send someone else! You just got back from a mission last week! You were injured for Kami's sake!" You averted your eyes, knowing he was right.

Tsunade probably could find someone else, but it was your pride that wouldn't let you ask for a switch. You knew Kiba was protective, it was something you found endearing, actually.

However, you were nearing your wit's with his overreacting. Ever since you'd gotten together four months ago, Kiba had taken to protesting every mission you went on that he wasn't apart of.

You were a capable kunoichi, you both knew it, and it was getting on your nerves that he was treating you like a fragile doll.

"Kiba. I know you're just trying to look out for me- and I appreciate it!- but I'm a ninja and I can't neglect my duties, okay?"

He turned away, still frowning. "I'm sorry, (Y/N/N), I know you can handle it, it's just... I love you and I couldn't take it if something happened to you and I wasn't there!"

You froze in response to his words. In the fourth month duration of your relationship, neither of you had used the 'L' word yet, but here he was laying his heart out on his sleeve.
You threw your arms around his neck, burying your face into his shoulder.

"I love you, Kiba, so much. I promise you I'll come back to you, okay?" His arms wrapped around your waist tightly as he rested his chin on top of your head.

"I know you will... I'll still miss you though, babe." You cracked a smile. "I'll miss you as well, Kiba, but we'll back together before we know it!" You further reassured him with a gentle kiss, which he eagerly returned and deepened.

"I believe in you, (Y/N)."
