45. Don't Hold Back

"So this pond it lets out only some spirits"

"Mhm that's why I'm here to help you out of Demon Mode"

"...You mentioned me being in Demon Mode last time but last time I woke up on my own and I wasn't throwing up any black fluff or evil spirits chasing me"

"No, but you made a blood contract with some shadows last time remember?"

"Oh...okay well I accept that slip-up, but I didn't know that could also jog it"

"A lot of things can start up Demon Mode evil spirits, shadow contracts, blood contracts, negative thoughts, and the list continues"

"You know if it's so dangerous why'd transfer it to me? Wouldn't it have been better to have it die with you?"

"You're right and that's what I told my great grandfather and you know what he told me "Someone has to be a Guardian of the pond when one dies. Only then the other person is free" God I hated that old man"

"So you just drop the responsibility onto me without any instructions or guide to be safe. I'm just going to transfer the quirk onto another unsuspecting family relative and go through what you're doing?"

"No... Unlike my great grandfather, I don't want you to be here alone staring into a pond for the next guardian to die. That's why I'm releasing you from the Quirk to me"

"But won't that cause you to forever stay here?"

"Yes I will stay here forever but that's okay I got the chance to meet my great-granddaughter before I officially say goodbye"

A singular tear rolls down his cheek as he kissed my forehead. I hug him knowing this might be the last time I'll ever see him even when I die, "Alright Kid, listen closely, in order for you to get out of Demon Mode you're going to have to submerge your head into the pond, close your eyes, and count to 30 seconds it'll give you enough time to open your real eyes. Only then you will have 5 minutes to take control of the beast your body has summoned. Do whatever it takes to control it and whatever you do, don't hold back"

I nod going up to the pond feeling a little nervous, "It's okay I'm here on this side if you don't make it to 5 minutes"

"Wish me luck"

I dunk my head into the water closing my eyes and counting to 30. I reached 30, opening my eyes, and looked down at the beast. It was the Cerberus I was using for the cement block. Only it's appearance looked different it lost all of its fur leaving it to skin and bones. It's once full eyes are now sunken orange hues.

I noticed I was holding red reins controlling the direction of the beast. I pulled back but it didn't listen, "(Y/n)-chan! Please answer me! This isn't the time to be moving on your own!!"

I noticed the beast was chasing Izuku and others. If I don't stop the beast now they're going to get crushed. I pulled the reins as hard as I could but it didn't faze the beast I stomped on its head shouting at it to stop. The head on the left growled looking at me.

'Oh shit'

I hardened my leg stomping at it more even jumping on it. It did nothing.

"Don't hold back"

I paused and clenched the reins knowing what I have to do. I created a knife looking at my damaged arm, "This is going to hurt so much"  I cut down my bruised up arm drawing tons of blood. With the amount of blood I now have, I can form up to three large scythes thick enough to penetrate its skull. No holding back. With one scythe I stab the middle one making it howl in pain. It waved around before stopping completely.

Its eyes changed from orange hues to blue confirming its submissiveness. I looked at the other two confirming what I have to do. I form another scythe going straight for the forehead paralyzing it, by now the beast stopped moving leaving one head left, "I'm sorry it had to be this way... I really am"

I formed my last scythe making my run I jumped from the middle one's head onto the last one. I tried balancing myself before throwing the last stab. I let go of the handle waiting to see what happens next. The beast starts to light up slowly disappearing. I free fell from the sky getting Deja Vu from a couple of minutes ago, "Oh sweet Jebus!!!"

"Gotcha!"

I felt a body collide with mines catching me. I gripped onto the person landing safely on the ground. I gaze up at my catcher surprised to see Fumi-kun smiling at me, "(Y/n)-chan...you look horrible"

"Gee thanks I'm sure every girl wants to hear how horrible they look after getting beaten up"

"Yeah, that's her. Welcome back (Y/n)-chan"

Shoji nods at me I laughed scratching the back of my head, "So...what'd I miss?" My arm slowly healed up it wasn't enough to completely heal it but it certainly stopped the bleeding.

I looked at everyone trying to stand up. I flinched at the pain in my legs remembering that I'm still slightly broken, "A bit of everything do you need help standing up?"

"Kinda...thank you"

I wrapped my arm over Fumi-kun's shoulder before falling back down, "Eh...guess I'm still broken from the last fight"

"Dumbass you're the worst at fighting I'm surprised you made it this far"

Katsuki grumbled from behind Todoroki marching up to me, I honestly expected him to bonk my head but he genuinely hugged me or crushed me really, "I'm not that weak Katsuki! I'm far from the supposed worst fighter!!"

"Whatever loser"

I smiled clenching onto his shirt, "Cover yourself up will you, I hate it when guys stare at you"

Katsuki growls yanking the sweater off of my waist and forced the sweater over my head. I pout when my head makes it through the top part, my already messed up hair is now beyond fixing. Conditioner isn't going to save it now, "That hurt you know"

"I didn't ask for your opinion dumbass"
