Cheap

"Awit, sana all na lang talaga!" Ace said pagka-kwento ko sa kaniya ng gusto niyang malaman.

Honestly, it was really awkward for me to tell what exactly happened, so I just told her that Jacob and I made love. I didn't tell her everything, of course. I respect my own privacy pa rin naman and of course, Jacob's. It's not really my thing to kiss and tell, you know. Especially when it involved other people as well.

"Bakit? Hindi ba kayo nag-sex ni Sync dito last night?" I blatantly asked and her eyes immediately widened. I arched a brow as I saw her reaction. Was my question that embarrassing?

I really don't know what's going on between the two of them, Ace and Sync, I mean. They just really have this vibe na never magkasundo talaga, but I could clearly see that they value each other. I was just actually kidding when I asked her that and I didn't expect her to be this shocked.

Umayos ako ng pagkakaupo sa sofa at pinagpatuloy ang pagkain ng pizza habang nanonood ng Netflix. Si Ace ay nakaupo lang sa sahig at nakasandal sa coffee table sa harap ko. I looked at her when I didn't hear her respond to my question.

"Okay. I won't ask anything anymore," I gave up while shrugging.

If she doesn't want to tell me anything about her relationship with Sync, I would totally respect that. Just because we're best friends, doesn't mean she has to tell me everything that's been happening to her lately. She's not obliged to that. And I totally understand.

I continued watching as I ate another slice of pizza.

"Nothing like that happened between us," she suddenly said which made me look at her again. Diretso siyang nakatingin sa TV. "Mandiri ka nga sa iniisip mo, Tinay. Ew, nakakakilabot," nandidiri niyang sabi at parang nanginig pa. Natawa naman ako dahil doon.

"Fine, fine." I shrugged again and completely believed what she said. Maybe, she doesn't like him like that, huh.

It was already 10PM in the evening and I was already in my room. I went to the bathroom to do night skincare routine. I went back to my room right after ko mag-skincare at kumuha ng bagong librong babasahin sa bookshelf ko. I sat down on my reading sofa at nagsimula nang magbasa.

I was in the middle of reading when I heard my phone vibrated against the table. It was on my study table, so I had no choice but to get up para makuha iyon. I checked my phone and a smile eventually showed up on my face. It was a message from Jacob.

From Jacob:

I miss you, baby.

I typed a reply habang bumabalik sa reading sofa ko. I closed my book and placed it on my lap at sumandal sa bookshelf ko.

To Jacob:

I miss you too, best friend.

Buong magdamag ay nakangiti lang ako dahil sa messages namin ni Jacob. Hindi na rin ako nakapagbasa dahil mas pinagtuunan ko na lang ng atensyon ang boyfriend ko. I couldn't help but giggle while reading every message that he sent me.

I thought puro sakit lang ang mararamdaman ko habang minamahal si Cob pero iba pala talaga kapag minahal ka na rin ng taong mahal na mahal mo. Sobrang saya sa puso. I felt like I'm on a cloud nine. It may be cliché, but it is what it is. Jacob is more than enough for me.

We already said our good nights and I went to sleep na after. Nagising na lang ako sa malakas na katok sa pinto ng room ko. I slowly sat down on my bed while rubbing my eyes.

"Just a minute," I shouted at dumiretso na sa bathroom ng kwarto ko para maghilamos. After doing my morning skin care routine ay lumabas na ako ng banyo.
