"Kamusta, babe?" I asked Ace even though I'm already seeing her struggling right now.

I just wanted her to say what she was feeling and be honest with me. Knowing Ace, she would always tell me that she is fine even though she is not. She would always tell me that everything is doing great even though it is not. But right now, I asked her that hoping that she would be honest with me already.

"Okay lang, babe." See? She still wouldn't tell me the truth despite it being so obvious already.

"Seriously, Ace Hailey?" I asked her in disbelief.

Nilapag niya sa table 'yong paper works niya. She looked at me with her tired eyes. I sighed and tapped her shoulder, reminding her that I am always here and that I would do anything I could to help her.

"Come on, babe. Let me help," I said but she just let out a faint smile.

"I just want to finish everything on my own, Tinay," she sighed before continuing. "And besides, you have so much on your plates na rin," she added.

"Like what?" I arched a brow in confusion.

"Duh! You have your own requirements to finish. Mara? Jacob?" I understood instantly what she meant by that.

"Jacob? He's not on my plate, babe," I said, shaking my head a little. I stopped for a while then continued. "But Mara is," I said, joking. I saw her laughed a little. I smiled.

"Pero seriously." Her expression turned serious again the moment I said that. "I'm here. Let me help you," I repeated what I told her earlier. She let out a deep sigh and smiled sweetly.

"Thank you, Tinay, really. But..." she sighed again before continuing. "I really can do this. Don't worry about me. Worry about yourself," she added. I sighed, feeling defeated.

Never talagang magpapatalo 'tong si Ace. No wonder she's a UP student, my gosh!

Anyway, hindi ko na rin siya kinulit pa dahil aware naman na ako na talagang hindi ko mababago ang isip niya. So, I decided to not bother her na lang and went straight to my room.

I did my night skincare routine and read a book hanggang sa makatulog ako. I woke up the next day feeling dizzy. It felt so weird because I did not expect myself to get sick and gosh, I have midterms today. I need to go to school now. I even studied at lot for my exams today.

I got up and fixed my bed before going to the bathroom. I just took a quick shower because the water felt so cold even though I already turned on the heater, I don't know. Mukhang magkakasakit pa nga yata ako and I hate it. Ngayon pa talagang may exams ako. Ugh.

Nang matapos akong magbihis ay lumabas na ako ng kwarto. I was shocked when I saw Cob in the living room, seated on the couch while watching Netflix. He smiled when he saw me got out of my room and immediately went to me for a tight hug. I smiled sweetly when I felt his warmth and I hugged him back.

"Where is Ac–"

"Are you okay?" he cut me off.

"Yeah, why?" I said, trying my best to compose myself and my thoughts. My head hurts a little.

"Ang init mo," he softly said but worry was evident in his tone.

"Mainit ka rin," I said, chuckling.

"Yeah, but you are way hotter." I chuckled when it sounded like he's complimenting me.

He parted from our hug and looked at me with worried eyes. I sighed and covered his face using my hand, but he instantly removed it and pouted. I chuckled at his reaction. My boyfriend is so cute.
