There she is again.

Y/N L/N.

All cute and dressed in her Jonin uniform.

She was buying snacks at the shop, BBQ pickled chips, glazed cherries, and her favorite, twizzlers. She always has one hanging out of her mouth.

I've only met her a handful of times before, Shikamaru and Ino have tried to get me to talk to her more but I'm too embarrassed. She's so cute that I can't bring myself to say anything. My knees grow weak, and my brain stops working, and my heart feels like it's going to burst out of my chest.

I watched her from my hiding spot, smile at the cashier and wave a goodbye, I admired her smile, it's so cute.

"Hey Choji right?" Her voice scared me and I yelled in surprise making her laugh, I didn't even notice her walk this way I was so into my own thoughts.

Aw man her laugh..

"Uh...uh h-hey, Y/N.." I'm a stuttering mess as I rub the back of my neck nervously.

"You weren't spying on me, were you?" She teased winking at me

My whole face heated up as I stared at her dumbfounded.

"Uh.. uh n-no! I wasn't-" I put my hands up in surrender as I stumbled on my words. Y/N laughed and dug through her paper bag and handed me the bag of BBQ pickled chips.

"Here Choji, these are for you. You've earned a snack for all the hard work you've done." There's that cute smile again.

I stared at her in shock, how did she know these were my favorite and that I was on my own way to get snacks?

"What? These are your favorite right?" She asked getting worried that she might have offered me something I don't like. I quickly grabbed the bag and bowed in thanks.

"Y-yes I love these! Thank you Y/N."

She giggled and bit her lip.

"Wanna go sit down somewhere and enjoy our snacks together?"

I think my heart just exploded.

"Uh sure. Yeah I'd like that." Then she walked past me and I followed her to a stack of awaiting lumber and we sat down as she got out the glazed cherries opening the bag, popping one in her mouth.

She let out a satisfied and groan of approval and offered the bag to me silently asking me if I want one.

"Thanks." I popped one into my mouth. They were actually really good, I've never had them before.

I opened my bag of chips and started munching on them.

"So Choji?"

"Hmm?" I stopped chewing and looked at her, her eyes were cast down looking at the bag of cherries in her lap, her cheeks were pink and her lips were pursed.

"I'm really glad you came and sat with me. Truth is, I've been dying to talk to you for a while now." She smiled.

"But I couldn't muster up the courage to do it, and with the war coming up, and a little push from Ino, I decided that now was as good as time as ever." She looked at me, her smile never fading.

"Y/N.. I've felt the same way. Honestly I didn't think you'd be interested in me.." frowning I looked away from her.

"Why's that Choji? You didn't think I'd like you?" Her voice sounded hurt.

"N-no not really. Most girls don't give me a second look.."

"Well those girls suck! I'd look at you all day!" I snapped my head towards her as she covered her mouth with her hand and looked away blushing hard.

"Whoa really?!" She looked back at me and smiled brightly.

"Really. I like you Choji, and maybe, If you'd like, we could give this a shot after the war?" She placed her hand on mine and looked me on my eyes.

"Definitely."
