(After school as the group of preteens are walking home)

Niki: (digs tip of shoe into dirt) Hey, guys. I have a bit of a confession to make.

Hanna: What's the confession?

Niki: (hand behind back if neck) Out to be fair, you guys aren't my only "friends".

Jenny: What do you mean by that?

Niki: In the forest, I have a few more or maybe just one more, apart from the "other thing".

Jenny: Okay... But again, what kind of "friend" do you have in the forest?

Niki: (sighs) How are you guys on snakes?

Hanna: (arms crossed and looking at everyone else) Okay-ish, I guess.

Niki: (nervously) Ok then, well, that's what you guys are gonna meet.

Jeffery: I'm all down for it. Twins?

(The twins look at each other and nod)

Niki: Jenny?

Jenny: I'm okay with this. I don't know why you're asking everyone if they're okay with this, when clearly we are fine.

Niki: Just wanted to make sure and I guess we can go ahead and head off now, well after we drop our school stuff off.

(Hanna and Jenny shake their heads with arms crossed and with a smile)

(The whole meet and greet is skipped over btw)

(In the middle of the forest, the group is chatting, with Niki in the lead, Jeffery behind her and Hanna next to him, behind them is Jenny and behind her are the twins)

Hanna: Oh my gosh! I didn't know Queen Selda would be so pretty.

Jeffery: And she's very nice.

Niki: (looks back) Well, I'm glad you guys enjoy-(trips on something but Jeffery catches her from one of her wrists)

Jeffery: (helps her stand up on two) You okay?

Niki: Yeah, I don't know what I tripped over.

Jeffery: looks like a small log.

(They continue over the log and reach a widened forest area)

Jay: (slowly goes over the log with Jan) I don't think this is a log.

Niki: How come?

Hanna: (hand on hip) That would be some scaly looking moss if it was.

Jan: (slightly terrified and to Jay) Do you think she tripped over a snake tail?

Niki: (curiously) Hm... (Goes back towards the tail and kneels down to observe it and starts slightly mumbling)

(I have fully made up the name for Lyric's species)

Niki: Green, thick scales. Modern weight to the scales. (Speaks a bit more loud) An Indonite. (endo-night)
