Sonic Boom Season 3

A Secretive Beginning

(During noon at village square)

(Sonic and the team are having a battle with Eggman)

(Later on in the battle, a certain "villain", shows up. It's Shadow)

Sonic: (not amused) Oh, great, when did he show up?

Niki: I'll deal with him, you guys continue here. (Races towards Shadow to try an spin attack him)

(Shadow teleports to dodge and then they both, head away from the Eggman battle)

Shadow: Coast clear?

Niki: Coast is clear.

(Once they are in hiding, they break from battling)

Niki: (nervous) So... What I wanted to talk to you about was the visits. Um... No, Sonic didn't find out, but I just thought probably doing this every once and a while would be nice.

Shadow: So, you're suggesting we battle each other to a secure spot and...?

Niki: Just do a five to ten minute chat. I know it seems kinda pointless, but I could use a break from Egghead battles.

Shadow: Okay, anything else? (Crosses arms)

Niki: Yes, what days. Wednesday's and Friday's. I'm only doing Wednesday's because that is a school day I tend to skip. Why do I skip it? Project day for history... (Eye twitches). Not that I don't mind history, it's just it's constant.

Shadow: Didn't need that whole life session.

Niki: Still getting used to that. Anyway, so are you cool with the schedule?

(Shadow nods)

Niki: Cool beans. (Two thumbs up) So, uh, I guess I'll just head back. (Turns towards back to the battle)

Shadow: Wait a minute.

(Niki stops and turns to Shadow with a confused look)

Shadow: You don't think they're gonna find it suspicious that you aren't injured or at least scrunged up?

Niki: Oh, right. (Picks up some dirt and then covers her arms, legs, and face in the dirt) So now it actually looks like we went through a battle.

(Shadow nods)

Niki: I guess I'll see you later. (Waves goodbye)

(Shadow teleports away)

(Niki runs back to help finish the battle)

(Battle ends within two strikes)

Eggman: I'll be back! (Retreats)

Sonic: Whew... (Wipes off sweat and to Niki) I'm surprised you aren't dead.

Niki: (arms crossed with a cocky look) Told you I could handle him.

Sonic: But how? Even every once and a while, I loose to him.

Niki: Well, I'm not you, so there.

Sonic: I have a feeling something else is going on...

Niki: (nervously) Wh-what do you mean by something else?

Sonic: That those dirt marks look a little suspicious. It seems like you didn't battle him at all...

(Niki bites her bottom lip)

Niki: It's not what it looks like, I swear!

Sonic: Oh, I bet. You're just trying to show off and he probably thought that you weren't strong enough to even battle him.

Niki: (looks blank and studders) Uh... Yeah... He so did not think that... (Chuckles nervously)

(Sonic has his hands on hips with a "really?", look)

Niki: Fine, as I was trying to battle him and he just kinda teleported place to place, making fun of me.

Sonic: (snorts) Thought so. I'm also guessing that you got rubbed in the dirt when trying to go after him. (Snickers)

Niki: (ears flop) Yeah, hilarious.

Sonic: (to the team) Let's go home guys.

(The team walks away from the scene. As they are walking, Tails gives a suspicious look at Niki)

(The next day)

(Silver and Niki are walking on the beach side)

Niki: So that's the plan for now.

Silver: Okay, so Wednesday is your next meet up?

Niki: Yes and thank you for still keeping this a secret.

Silver: No problem. Um... I have something to tell you.

Niki: What's that?

(Both stop walking)

Silver: (kneels down) Secret to secret okay?

(Niki nods)

Silver: Um... Haven't you wondered why I'm a bit overprotective with you?

Niki: You do tend to be a bit more brotherly than Sonic. That I've noticed.

Silver: That's because... I... Had my own sister at one point. (Looks down in depression)

Niki: (hugs him) I'm sorry. (Un hugs) What was she like?

Silver: (sniffles) She was always full of energy, kinda like you. She was always in high spirits even when the worst things happened. (Voice breaks) I just wished that she was still alive. (Starts tearing)

Niki: (hugs him again) Please don't cry. (Un hugs but looking directly at him with her hands on his shoulders) I don't want to know what happened, but I do want to know if she was the best sister you could of ever had?

Silver: (nods) She was. She would be 15 if she was still here.

Niki: How old was she when...?

Silver: Seven. *sniffles*

Niki: What was her name?

Silver: It was Lisa. (Wipes tears)

Niki: I know you're sad, but again, please don't cry. Shadow told me something that I don't know if he ever told you. It was " Don't let the past sink you in, otherwise you'll be drowned before the future." I was having a hard time myself and he told me that.

Silver: (hugs Niki) Thank you for that.

(Niki hugs back)

(The next day)

Tails: (to Sonic) I'm finding Niki a little suspicious.

Sonic: What do ya mean?

Tails: The Shadow conflict. I don't know if it's just me or the fact that the battle only lasted for so long?

Sonic: Shadow probably just thought that Niki was annoying him or something.

Tails: "Something".

Sonic: Come on, Tails. I bet she didn't even have a chance at Shadow.

Tails: I highly doubt that. She's faster than you. She could've easily tagged him and she didn't. I say something else is going on.

Sonic: You may be right on that, but still. I don't think that Niki was able to get even close to Shadow.

Tails: (ears flop) Mmm...

(The scene fades)
