Cheryl's POV
Thistlehouse
I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. It was an unknown number.

"Do you know what ti-" I was cut off.

"Cheryl, it's Toni I don't have a lot of time, I'm at the police station and the evidence is really not on my side but I didn't do it you have to believe me," Toni said.

"What do you mean what happened?" I asked worriedly.

"Jason, he was shot and my fingerprints are on the gun, but I didn't do it, you need to go to the hospital," she replied.

"But what about you?" I asked.

"Don't worry about me, princess, I'll be fine, you can come here after you go to the hospital if you want, but um last I heard Jason's recovering well, but they're planning on charging me with aggravated assault or attempted murder," she said.

"Oh, Toni, I love you, I'll get you the best lawyer money can buy," I reassured.

"Cheryl, you can't do that," Toni protested.

"Why not?" I asked.

"If it goes to court it's going to be me versus Jason in that courtroom, you have to stand by him whether or not his accusations are true," she answered.

"I'm not going to stand by a liar Toni, he didn't like you from the beginning and there are plenty of witnesses from when Jason beat you up," I said firmly.

"I guess there's no changing your mind on this, I love you, Cheryl," she said.

"I love you too, Toni, I'll see you soon," I said.

She hung up and I quickly put on some clothes and ran downstairs and jumped into my car and I drove to the hospital.

"I'm looking for Jason Blossom," I said to the lady at the front desk.

She typed something on her computer and then looked up at me "He's in room 233," she answered.

"Thank you," I said.

I walked into Jason's room, closing the door behind me and sat down in the chair next to his bed.

"Wake up, right the hell now!" I yelled.

He jumped awake and his face went pale when he saw me.

"C-Cheryl, what are you d-doing here?" he stuttered.

"I'm here because you were shot," I said, "Did you see who it was?" I asked.

"Yes! It was your girlfriend," he answered confidently

"See, that's where you're wrong, Toni would never do something like that," I said.

"Cheryl, the evidence is against her!" he protested.

"And why is that?" I asked.

"Why would I know?" he asked.

"Jason Montreal Blossom, do not lie to me!" I screamed.

"Don't get mad at me I've been shot," he grimaced at the use of his full name.

"Jason, as soon as you found out she was a Serpent you didn't like her, so clearly you have a motive to get her thrown in prison so she's away from me," I sighed.

"But she had a motive to shoot me, Cheryl, I beat her up she wanted revenge, so she shot me, she's Serpent scum, why is that so hard to see?" he said.

"Jason if you hate Serpents so much why were you on the Southside, their turf?" I inquired.

"I um I uh I was meeting a friend," he stuttered.

"Jason if you tell me the truth I can help you," I pleaded.

"I can't Cheryl," he replied.

"Jason, I promise I will protect you, you're my twin brother, after all, but you need to tell me the truth," I said sincerely.

"Okay, as you know I don't like the fact that your dating a Serpent, this guy approached me and said that he has a plan on breaking you and Toni up and I was happy about it, he said that you were straight and the Serpents drugged you into being gay and that's how you and Toni got together, anyways, the plan was to get Toni involved in some crime so she would be arrested and put in jail but when we were carrying out the plan the guy shot me and then he told me to go and do a stickup job on Toni when she left the Whyte Wyrm because she would fight back," he divulged.

Little did Jason know I was recording this entire conversation on my phone.

"You do know I'm as straight as a circle," I joked.

"I guess I was just upset that you were dating a Southside, and I didn't care if any of the statements made sense or were true," he sighed.

"What was this guys name?" I asked changing the subject.

"Uh, it was, ah! It was..."

Toni's POV
"Who shot you?" I asked Jason.

"You did," he replied.

"What? Jason, you know that's not true," I said.

I dropped the gun and went over to help him.

"Get off of me, I don't need your help!" he yelled.

"Jason, you're bleeding out," I pleaded.

I heard sirens in the distance and assumed that it was the ambulance.

"What's all this no- Toni what's going on?" Jughead said as he came outside.

"Jug just go back inside, I'll update you if I can, go to the trailer park once all this dies down, okay?" I asked.

"Okay, don't do anything stupid," he chuckled.

"Lock the door!" I yelled.

He just nodded before closing the door.

"Jason, just stay awake okay, um do it for Cheryl," I said putting pressure on the wound.

"Argh!" he cried.

"Sorry, um Jason, please tell me who did this," I begged.

"I already told you," he said firmly.

The next events were a blur.

The police came and tackled me because I didn't put my hands up. I was just trying to heal him, but they didn't know that did they. They put my handcuffs on extra tight. I heard more sirens come as I was violently shoved into the back of the police car. I was taken to the police station where they put me in a holding cell and told me that I could have one phone call and that was when I called Cheryl.

I was currently just sitting in my holding cell, thinking about what I was gonna do. I just broke down. I pulled my knees into my chest and started rocking back and forth. I kept saying "I didn't do it" although no one was there.

"Miss Topaz you have a visitor," the guard said.

I just nodded.

"Oh my God, what have they done to you, TT?" A familiar voice said.

"I-I didn't do it, Cheryl," I said.

"I know, Toni, I know, I have evidence that you didn't they should be letting you out anytime soon," she smiled.

"Y-you did?" I asked shocked.

"Of course, Toni, I'm not letting you rot in a cell for something you didn't do," she said.

Something in Cheryl's face changed like she was sad.

"Cheryl are you okay?" I asked concerned.

"Yeah um it's just that Jason told me he was working with someone..." she trailed off.

"Okay, did he tell you who?" I asked.

"Yeah, it was," she gulped. "Nickstclair," she breathed out.

"Can you say that again but slowly please?" I inquired gently.

She took a deep breath, "My brother was working with Nick St Clair,"
