I shuddered at the thought of my friends at my old high school. A tear escaped from my eye. It was my first day at a new school. I really didn't want to go, to be honest. I felt like it was me that killed my friends in Whitechapel.
Flashback "ETHAN!" I shrieked as his body slumped into a lifeless corpse that collapsed next to the bodies of Erica, Rory and Benny.
'No, no no no no!' I slumped to the floor. I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"I told you this would happen if you didn't join us, Toni," Jesse said calmly.
"Jesse! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!" I cried whilst throwing his hand off of my shoulder.
I jumped up and threw my fist into his face.
"Hahahahahaha! Oh, poor Toni you know you can't hurt me. I'll follow you wherever you go, you know you can't escape me. I'll hurt everyone you love until you join me, Toni." he said mockingly wiping the blood from his nose.
End of flashback
I got out of bed to take a shower.
At school
Cheryl's POV
I turned the corner to see Betty giving a tour to a gorgeous new student. Since I came out my feelings for people have been easier to control. Despite the fact, I think I was crushing and HARD. Her hair was so cute the shade of pink was quite delectable.
"You okay, Cheryl?" Betty asked snapping in front of my face.
"Um, who is that?" I said pointing in the direction of the new student.
"Oh, this is..." Betty replied signalling for the student to continue.
"Sorry for my bluntness," I said snapping out of my daze "Hello, cousin, who might this attractive young lady be?" I asked, extending my hand.
"Hi I'm Antoinette Topaz but you can call me Toni," Toni said whilst shaking my hand.
"I'm Cheryl Blossom AKA Cheryl Bombshell," I replied, "Do you wanna sit with me at lunch, Toni?"
"Um, okay sure that sounds like a plan," she answered.
"Cool see ya there!" I said trying not to explode with excitement.
Lunch
I saw Toni standing still in the middle of the cafeteria looking for me quite awkwardly.
"Toni over here!" I yelled gesturing her in my direction.
She walked over and greeted me with a friendly smile. She sat across from me. I looked up and smiled back.
"I've never seen you here so you must be new here" I chuckled, "So what brings you to Riverdale?"
"Um, my parents moved us here after an accident in my hometown," she responded
"What kind of accident?" I asked.
Something in Toni's face changed like she was in deep thought. I tried to read her expressions to no avail.
"Um, it's okay if you don't wanna talk about it," I said regretting asking.
"I don't think she can hear you, Cheryl," said Veronica
Her face contorted into a blank stare.
Flashback
Toni's POV
I looked at Jesse he was nodding his head and stroking his chin. I knew he was plotting something or coming up with a reason to make me join him. I cleared my throat, he spun around.
"Toni, listen baby I know I hurt you bu-" he started before I abruptly interrupted him.
"Don't even start Jesse it's over we're over for good, okay? So cut the crap and get to the point." I snapped.
"Fine, I was gonna lay it on you easy but here, you have two options: You either join us or we'll kill all your friends," he said void of emotion.
I looked him dead in the eye
'He was bluffing' I thought.
I turned to leave and Jesse teleported in front of me.
"Toni, I'm not joking I don't use death threats just like that." He said sternly.
"Okie doke if ya say so, buddy." I laughed pushing past him.
"Just know when they're dead their blood is on your hands; Ethan, Benny Erica and Rory all of their blood will be on your hands, Toni!" he called after me.
End of flashback
"Toni, are you okay?" Cheryl asked getting up to comfort me.
I was confused, then I realised I was crying. I got up and ran to the bathroom.
I broke down, Jesse was right it was my fault, I killed my friends, Erica, Benny, Rory and Ethan. After all of my protests for the greater good, I killed the only people that ever cared about me, the only real family I had. I heard Cheryl come in. I heard her voice but not the words she was saying. She hugged me from behind, I turned around and sobbed into her shoulder. She just rubbed my back comfortingly.
When I calmed down Cheryl cupped my face and I stared into her eyes.
"What's wrong Toni, w-was it some I said?" she inquired.
"Um kind of, but I was being overly dramatic. I know you didn't mean it. You can go now, there's no need to worry about me okay? I'll be fine."
"I'm sorry you can always talk to me if you want to like we can talk about it when you're ready but no pressure. I know it's a weird time but can I get your number?" she questioned.
I handed her my phone after unlocking it. She chuckled.
"What's funny?" I asked.
"Nothing, your friends are just cute" she chuckled.
"That they are," I responded proudly looking up to wink at my friends who were watching over me.
"There, now I'm only a phone call away," she said cheerfully, handing me back my phone.
"Thanks." I smiled weakly.
I got up and washed my face, I realised I had to be wary of people when I'm in the bathroom as I didn't have a reflection. I spun around ready to leave but was instead greeted by a far too familiar face.
"Jesse," I whisper-shouted "What are you doing here?!"
"I need you to befriend that redhead Toni, remember I know where you live so think carefully about your answer." He answered.
"Okay," I responded and walked away.
"Good answer." I heard him say as the door closed.
At home
I flopped onto my bed and pulled out my phone
I messaged Cheryl
