Amelia
"Hey, we're parked at the pick up lane, do you know where you're at?" Bella's voice asks through my phone.
"Uhm, kind of. I just left baggage claim but I'm not sure which way to go now." I look around me, searching for a sign that would indicate where the pick up lane is.
I could hear Charlie say something in the background but it wasn't loud enough for me to hear.
"Dad says that from baggage claim you take a left down a long hallway." she instructs, pausing to listen to what he says as I begin walking down the hallway.
"He says follow it all the way down, then take a right and it should lead you to a shopping center."
"Ok I just found it. Now what?" I ask as I try to avoid running into anyone.
"Take the escalator downstairs and then straight out the doors in front of you. We're parked a bit down from the doors. We'll see you when you come out." I could hear a door open and shut as the sound of wind filled the speaker.
"Alright I'm like halfway down the escalator. So I turn left when I'm out the doors?" I double check.
"Yup, you can't miss us." she laughs.
I see the doors as the escalator reaches the bottom, I nearly trip trying to get off but manage to stay on both feet.
I could see that it was, as usual, a bit cloudy with a bit of wind. Thankfully I was wearing a hoodie, I had a feeling I would need it either on the plane or after, or both, and I was right.
"Amelia!" Bella calls out as I step out of the doors.
I couldn't help but laugh a bit at the sight of my sister bundled up, our dad stood behind her with a wide grin.
"Hi!" I laugh as I reach them, immediately dropping my bags to give my dad a hug. I hadn't seen him in almost a year, it was the longest I've ever gone without seeing him.
"Hey there kiddo." he laughs, hugging me back, a bit awkward as normal. I let him go, turning to Bella, hugging her as well.
"You don't even look like yourself." I laugh as we pull away. She rolls her eyes.
"It's cold here alright."
"Come on girls. Let's go get something to eat." Charlie smiles in content as he puts my suitcase and backpack in the bed of the truck.
"Is that all you brought?" Bella asks as we slide into the truck.
"No, I shipped two boxes over. They should be here any day." I shrug.
She looks a bit surprised, she must have forgotten that I already had almost everything I would need at home.
"Well, I hope your hungry Amelia. Everyone at the diner has been dying to see you." Charlie says as he drives, the airport already several minutes behind us.
We spend the next three hours talking and catching up. By the time we reached the diner, I was starving.
Charlie was right, everyone at the diner was glad to see me back. We talked with a few of the cooks and staff, and a few of the other guests before they let us eat together.
"I cannot wait to shower. I feel disgusting." I laugh as we walk in the front door of the house. Charlie insisted he carry my bags.
"I made space for you in the cabinet, but I think I'm going to have to order a shower organizer and dad will have to put in another cabinet." Bella says as we follow Charlie to my room.
