Amelia

"I can't wait for the year to be over." Bella grumbles as she closes her math book and opens her english book.

"I can't wait to graduate. Just a few more weeks." I sigh happily at the thought. This was my last week of school but we would not graduate for another two and a half weeks.

Bella narrows her eyes at me and I can't help but laugh.

"That really isn't fair." she mumbles. I merely shrug, not trying too hard to hide the smirk on my face.

I was putting the last of my homework away when Bella stops me.

"Can I ask you something?" her voice was low and serious.

"Yeah, sure." I stop my movements, giving her my full attention.

She taps her pencil against her book for a moment as she forms her thoughts.

"Have you and Jasper...talked?" she wonders, her eyes barely meeting mine. She must have seen the confusion on my face because she continues.

"You know...about your future?" she clarifies. I let out a hum of understanding, realizing where this was headed with this. I should have known.

"Why?" I didn't have to read minds to know that hers was racing.

"It's just...Edward." she shrugs, her fingers trace the area James has bitten her.

"I'm going to need a little more help than "just Edward." I say gently after she doesn't continue. She was biting the inside of her cheek and tapping her pencil away.

"What's bothering you?" I try again.

She lets out a deep sigh, pushing some hair away from her face before she speaks.

"It's just that, I know what I want. But Edward, well he doesn't exactly agree." she scrunches her nose just slightly as she speaks.

"And what is it that you want?" I ask, though I'm sure that I could take a pretty good guess.

"I want him to," she sighs before meeting my eyes "I want him to turn me." she says with a confidence I don't think I've ever seen her with before.

"I thought so. Why doesn't he agree?" I skip through a few possibilities in my mind at the thought.

"He doesn't want to 'damn my soul', he wants me to live a normal human life." she throws her arms up in annoyance, her brows pulled together as she lets out a huff.

"So he thinks vampires are damned to hell?" I clarify, trying to understand his thought process. She nods in response.

I let out a slight hum, leaning back as I mull over this information. I could see her whole body slouch down a bit as she speaks up again.

"What if he just...doesn't want me?" her eyes were full of a hurt that I could barely stand to see. I shake my head vigorously, sitting straight up again.

"Nope. Not possible. I've seen the way he looks at you, the way he talks about you, how he is with you in general. Edward couldn't possibly be more in love with you." I reassure her, though knowing her, I'm not sure how much good it will do. She overthinks some things to death.

"So then why won't he turn me?" she sighs, clearly a bit confused but mostly hurt.

"Well it's like you said, he believes vampires are damed to hell. He loves you too much to risk that, even if it means he has to lose you." I explain, I couldn't be sure this was what he was thinking but I would bet money it was close to it.
